Better than now. Yay I get 1 really cool perk, plus a terrible melee that I hate, a super that doesn't fit my playstyle, AND a support perk that is actually detrimental on a personal and team level. YAY!!!

You're missing the point. Under the D1 system perks were weaker [i]because[/i] you could mix them. Chances are you probably wouldn't have the perk you like at all if it was styled after D1.
