How is it really THAT bad to many of you? I've never had any issues with it.
I still don't have any issues with it right now.
This is the second season in a row I managed to reach fabled in competitive mostly solo. I earned recluse, Luna's Howl, revoker, and hopefully mountaintop in the past 2 seasons.
The craziest thing about it all? I don't even use the meta. I'm not a shotgun user, I don't snipe that much, I barely use hand cannons, and I certainly don't use erentil unless I'm just screwing around.
I just don't get how people are having such an issue if I'm not. Sure everything is opinion and subjective, but come on, stop complaining so hard and just play.

I haven't played crucible in almost a year. I don't plan to ever play it again. I get no enjoyment out of it mostly because I'm bad at it. I played it off and on for 3 years thinking I may get better. I reached a plateau and couldn't get any better. I don't have the eyesight, dexterity or reflexes to get good enough to not be at a lower skill level compared to the majority I would play against. I enjoyed it some when it was oriented towards team shooting and SBMM was in place. When it went back to shotgun lurkers and no balancing of the competition, I quit playing. I'm quite happy playing pve and just doing without whatever paying pvp would get me.

Things that ruin Crucible: - Wardcliff Coil - The Recluse - Tanky roaming supers - Blade Barrage - RNG - Peer to Peer
-
Guns aren’t the problem. It’s the supers that last an eternity and one eyed mask titans running around basically invincible. But at the current moment crucible is actually unplayable with the invisible bugs and what not. actual shit

6 RepliesPVP is a hot pile of dog shit designed to appease the pubstomping sweaty elitists cowardly sociopaths and their clans

1 ReplyEdited by Tis-but-a-scratch: 7/20/2019 11:45:11 AMYes. Yes it is. I’m predominantly a PVE player but at the moment want to play crucible and just take a break from the PVE side of things. So I thought I’d go for recluse. Now I’ve learned I’ll most likely never get it. 13 matches and only won 2. I’m sitting at zero points. Basically just broke my will to try. And for Bungie this means less play time, not only from me but many others who share my opinion. Why is it that I can go into quickplay and have a higher average without mm? But then go into comp where mm is supposed to be and get crushed (and I mean CRUSHED) every match? Furthermore the pinnacle weapons in crucible are so much harder to attain. This, in my opinion is not fair. We all know anybody can get the PVE pinnacle weapons. But not everybody is good enough to get the PVP ones. So those that are good at PVP just get better weapons and this creates a vicious cycle. I have no problem with grinding but the whole Glory thing is crap. Rampant use of hand cannons with extreme range. Snipers able to head shoot you while suffering little flinch. Your welcome to disagree, but if I’m raining bullets on you, you should not be able to head shot me. Roaming supers that last way to long and can kill you 2 to 3 times with one super. Awful spawn points. The heavy ammo needs to go back to D1 Maps are too small and cater to those that exceed at combat in tighter areas. Grenades are little more than an annoyance. Matchmaking is inconsistent at best You should never lose rank in Glory. Bungie has set up crucible so that “ the rich get richer” to cater to streamers. Again, my opinion, but I want things to go back to D1 Y3. They seemed to be dialing it in and then just screwed it all up.

Are you on console?

I feel like a lot of people just come to angrily rant about things when they get frustrated. I also don't have many issues with crucible, and I've earned all of the crucible pinnacle weapons the last 2 seasons as well.
-
I don't have fun in any PvP activity (crucible or gambit) even when I win by a large margin. I only do it for powerful engrams, and not at all when I'm maxed out.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 7/20/2019 11:49:31 PMWell, let’s see. In the last week I’ve been a SEVERE detriment to my team trying to get sniper kills for the Revoker “quest.” As far as I can tell it’ll be the easiest but most tedious pinnacle weapon for the moment of triumph.... triumph. I suck at sniping. I get 2-3 kills per game. It’ll be 100+ games before I get the 300 required kills. It’s actually more efficient for me to just intentionally die after my initial sniper rounds are gone so I can have some special ammo again. So let’s couple that scenario, which is not unique to this quest, with some of the other things that occur in the Crucible, most of which either dictate player loadouts or provide ZERO incentive to win, thus invalidating it being legitimately competitive. - players using CLEARLY better pinnacle weapons that they’ve already acquired due to being good enough in the actual Comp playlist - the fact that it’s just horribly unbalanced from classes and abilities to how matchmaking matches players - initial weekly character progression is limited for not participating so many players are playing for no reason other than to level up their characters - players using specific weapons while trying to complete quest steps instead of using what they’re best with - players using specific, weapons, classes, and/or abilities for the sake of bounties instead of using what they’re best with Destiny PvP is the biggest cluster-blam!- of a PvP of any game that I’ve seen. There are WAY too many outside influences because it’s connected to PvE and it throws players of vastly different skill levels together. It cannot ever be balanced because of this. It will never be balanced or legitimate because of this. Individual player pursuits and competion, ESPECIALLY while on a team, are fundamentally opposing things. They do not belong together.

Rarely play crucible but most of the time, I have fun.
-
I enjoy it quite a bit, there are just some design decisions that are just mind numbingly stupid is all. Bungie kinda doesn’t think things through when they release content. Why even bother posting this though? People are gonna lie and flame anyway, knowing this forum and its fanboy/hater dynamic.
-
Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 7/20/2019 10:13:17 PMYep. Atrocious. This game model doesn’t lend itself to well balanced PvP. It will never be balanced or legitimate. It can’t be because of PvE interference and all the pursuits that dictate player loadouts. It always has been and always will be a frustrating mess unless they separate it from PvE and give it its own loot pool and loadouts that are designed SOLELY for PvP.

1 ReplyI play on pc using a controller and I don't find it that bad.
-
It's terrible for people who are bad at it and PvE mains. Although those 2 are kind of the same thing :/
-
my issue is I seem to empty a clip into someone's head registered hits and they still live were as I seem to get one short off everything
-
The only thing that's bad right now to me is just connection issues which I believe have to do with the updatess preparing for shadowkeep. Invisible people, invisible guns, getting kicked to orbit out of nowhere, getting kicked to home screen out of nowhere, and Destiny servers offline... that type of thing.
-
Edited by Hazel: 7/19/2019 7:50:24 PMThe vast majority of "crucible bad" opinions I see are just players who can't realize how long it takes to "git gud" at a pvp activity (I'm 30 days of crucible time in on PC D2 alone and I'm still not perfect). There are quite a few legitimate gameplay concerns but the majority of critics don't fall into that category. I can't see the majority of D2 players every enjoying the crucible, but I can notice a definite improvement in the competitiveness of the crucible since we moved to the new weapon system.

Loading in to a crucible game makes my stomach hurt thats how much i hate it
-
Matches with invisible players and guns, teams v solo getting priority over team v team (2 stacks of 3 should never be matched vs 6 solos to say nothing of comp) ghost bullets, magnetic melees, supers having zero counterplay (holding my I WIN button on hand is not a counter, my I WIN button is just more unbalanced) when they could be shut down by sniper headshots or shotgun/melee in D1, the meta hasn't changed in almost a year, the vast gap in horizontal and vertical sensitivity, the second disconnect between what happens in the game world and what happens on screen, and the p2p connections giving out my personal information. As you can clearly see there is a LOT to be pissed off about.
-
Crucible isn’t that bad,it’s just that it’s sort of unbalanced and there’s some bugs atm,but it really isn’t as terrible as people say,the people who complain about it instead of giving genuine feedback are usually terrible at it or just to lazy to do it for a quest, just can’t sacrifice themselves to achieve their goals, lazy.
-
2 RepliesI don't like the crucible simply because I just don't have fun playing it, I'd rather play a raid. I don't however take it to the forums that every gun should be nerfed the second it kills me once.
-
6 RepliesI just hate the fact that great quality pve weapons are locked behind a skill wall.
-
lately I've found comp to be better than quickplay for all the sweats are in quickplay or at least yesterday they we're. I still have good games an bad ones. I've gotten Luna, Recluse and are working towards Revoker. Mountaintop you can keep, all set with double kills, yes I know you can tether to get them but the weapon doesn't interest me. I'm perfectly fine with my Birthright. I'd rather go for Doomsday.
-
If they banned Titans from PvP, I'd probably have a far more enjoyable time in the Crucible.
-
Right now it’s mostly the in-game bugs for me. Invisible guns and invisible players.
