If you are unaware, the Liar’s handshake from season of the drifter have surfaced as one of the strongest hunter exotics for pve. The exotic perk gives you two seconds in which you get a significantly stronger melee attack after either getting punched by an enemy or using an arc melee yourself. However, this really shines with A) A one-two punch shotgun (currently the only ones are last man standing and emperor’s courtesy) and B) top tree arcstrider’s combination blow as well as gambler’s dodge. One two punch increases your melee damage by a lot after a point blank shotgun shot and combination blow x3 is very easy to stack and it gives a huge melee damage increase.
All of these melee damage boosts stack together, and amount to an unexpectedly ridiculous amount of damage for a melee attack. Shotgun meleeing a boss over and over with this build does more dps than most heavy weapons in the game, and holds a candle to even things like swarm of the raven and mountaintop. Of course it is harder to put in use since you literally have to be as point blank as can be with a boss, but if you can get it to work it is an incredible loadout. Ive been using it myself for a couple days and have had a lot of fun. If you happen to have a one two punch shotgun and liar’s handshake I highly recommend trying it out.
