Why is getting exotic weapons even a thing after the first time?
I remember one patch, Bungo said we'd see more exotic armor drop, than weapons... but I just don't see it happening.
Here's the thing, though, my first SUROS Regime will always be the same as my second, third, fourth and twentienth. But my first Lunafaction Boots will differ from every other one... unless you buy two from Xur, that is, ha!
So, let's get rid of getting exotic weapons a second time altogether, eh? I'd love to see a Nez's Sin with Ashes to Assets, a pair of Lunafaction Boots with Traction, and a Crown with Light Reactor... but I'm never even getting the chance with weapons I already have, that will never change, diluting the loot pool.
Secondary solution: re-release Glass Needles. Tons of great ideas in D1 were just scrapped going into D2, like Skeleton Keys, Glass Needles, SRL, Faction Rallies being around all the time, fun Iron Banners, etc. So just bring those back, at least, so we can fine tune our builds and re-roll our exotics.

I've gotten nothing but weapons, and 1 new exotic from the last couple expansions. Weapons need to be dropped from the loot pool once you have them. There's no benefit to getting one that's higher, just infuse. You can get 9+ infusion cores a day, so no barrier there (personally since they got added to banshee, I have over 300 now at any given time). Just put in armor, with armor you don't have being a much higher chance of dropping than armor you do have, then even out the chance once all armor has been acquired. That makes way more sense.

1 ReplyOnly good thing about exotic weapon duplicates is for infusion to bring up what you already had with much less cost. But yeah no, I'd rather they just get them removed from the loot pool once you got it. I'd take a prime engram that dropped a weapon so much more.

I've gotten like 8 exotics since the start of the season, still no khepris sting. Honestly, think it has to have some kind of requirement to get it. Kind of dumb when their are random rolls now.

I honestly agree in some aspects I'm still waiting for certain rolled exotics although glass needles I had alot of them so I was just able to re roll anything I want making almost all exotic drops useless.

1 ReplyI hear it. On a positive note, say you love Vigilance Wing and you have it at 700 power. If you’re 750 now and get you get a second one, now you can infuse for only glimmer versus shards, glimmer, etc.

Seriously this though! ^ I get having a grind but when the grind is pointless and futile what is the point. It is already hard enough to get exotics. When you get that rare yellow engram to drop after killing a boss, excitement swells in your chest, only to have it be your 5th Merciless when you still have so much armor you haven’t gotten yet. It’s terrible. I 100% remember Bungie talking multiple times about no more duplicates but it has never happened.

1 ReplyIve seen more armor drops. My last 4 have been: -ACD/0 Feedback Fence -ACD/0 Feedback Fence -ACD/0 Feedback Fence -ACD/0 Feedback Fence I still dont have the Peregrine greaves either. Its been disappointing. But hey im used to it. Destiny should be a case study about Stockholm Syndrome.

They said the chances of it dropping armor more frequently have increased. This does not mean "you will see more armor drop" as the system is still random. Also no hard numbers were given. So it probably means your chances went from 3% to 4% or something https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47377 Also faction rallies in d2 and D1 were straight garbage. Srl was a mess Iron banner being fun is subjective And skeleton keys wouldn't even do anything in current strikes as the loot is nightfall exclusive

Well, the only thing I like about finding exotic weapons is the nearly free infusion into other weapons... but I personally think that exotic engrams should be taken to our good cryptarch, where we choose either weapon or armor to roll. That, or just non increase non-powerful exotic drop rates in one way or another.
