Here me out, Riven doesn't look like the conventional Ahamkara.
It's obvious. The collectable ahamkara bones have a more stereotypical dragon/canine skull with a split lower jaw bone. Same goes for the D1 Bad Juju ornament, Dragonsbane... which is odd in comparison to the current Ahamkara based ornament for D2's Bad Juju. The D2 ornament resembles a baby Riven's skull rather than the usual Ahamkara.
Could Riven's physical form be for intimidation and not her true form?
Maybe all Ahamkara prefer this one form?
Or, these are premature Ahamkara which later grow into the multi jawed abomination which is Riven?
Edit: The Beast Magic ornament appears to be a War Beast, sorry on my part. Gave me Riven vibes.... but the question still remains!
Edit 2: I realize Ahamkara are "shapeshifters" but it's odd to see Riven in her "true form" and be drastically different from the actual bones of her kind. I mean maybe the taking of Oryx warped her appearance, but I doubt this.

1 ReplyEdited by Corrick II: 7/16/2019 2:18:04 PMAs others have pointed out they can change shape. My problem with this is it changed its shape to... that? The Last Wish raid may be fun and players may like it but for me, it’s a total disappointment. Ever since D1 I’ve been looking forward to finally seeing an Ahamkara and hunting them, and was thrilled to find out we’d get the chance in Forsaken. Then I find out not only is this ahamkara locked behind the raid, but it’s stationary and has been Taken. They literally did the opposite of what I was hoping for (I wanted to see a mobile boss we had to hunt down, and I hate the Taken). So yeah. They shapeshift. Into ugly snake demon monsters.

1 ReplyNeither of the two ornaments for Bad Juju in D2 are Ahamkara based, I believe. Beast Magic is a warbeast skull and spines, and Aurelian Decree is Leviathan-themed with a bird skull

1 ReplyLittle shop, little shop of Riven....

Ahamkara can shapeshift, so the form we see Riven in could pretty easily not be her "true" form
-
3 Replies% In short, ahamkara shapeshift into whatever you think they would look like. In a guardian's head, they probably thought she was the huge reptile creature she was in the raid. Of course, ahamkara can choose to stay in their true form. In Riven's case, no %

But she had a lot of teeth tho... Falls in line with the whole fillthe world with teeth gimmick

5 RepliesAre we all forgetting how she was Taken by Oryx? Or do we just not know this? And if that’s the case....how???

Its your perception of riven.

Shapeshifter

6 Replies<Ooh boy. Ahamkara are shapeshifters. They take the form of whatever they want, manipulating expectations to suit their needs. For example, one played a card game disguised as a human. One took the form of the Vex while being studied, before being killed after its usefulness ended. It's debated on what an Ahamkara's true form looks like. There are those that still believe the Worms and Ahamkara are the same species, a falsehood. Given its repeated sightings, it's likely that the Young Ahamkara skulls and the larger, tusked/frilled Ahamkara skulls are the skeletons of their true forms, perhaps reverting back to them upon death. Riven clearly liked the form she chose, and so used it often. However, there were times when she switched, one time being a proper chimera. The D1 ornament, Dragonsbane, is a young Ahamkara's skull. The D2 ornament I'm sure you're referencing isn't an Ahamkara skull at all. It's a War Beast's skull, something I thought people would know more about considering you fight the damn things every day. Also, don't call Riven an abomination. Ever since I wished for a 1K I've grown accustomed to her appearance... though I am constantly running low on resources and cores.>

It could be argued that since we seem to have rendered them completely extinct, it might not really matter.
-
I think all ahamkara are just changing your perception to make them look really powerful it would explain why the bones are small and dragon like since their like any other animal it's a self defense system

Ahamkara are shapeshifters

We already know that Ahamkara take on many forms...and Riven took on a form around guardians that was beastlike. its in the lore triumphs.

3 RepliesEdited by Arasaka’s Top Guy: 7/13/2019 12:47:19 AMThe ornament in D2 is a warbeast. Ahamkara can look like whoever they want.
