I know I am very late to this particular party since I had not even known this was a thing until I saw a video on it today but...
I have noticed that if you played D1 on PS4 or X1 and go into D2 that there is subtle dialogue changes that acknowledge past encounters like Ghost recognising the fallen banner in the EDZ as being of House Judgement, when Shaxx refers to you as 'Saladin's young wolf' or you already knowing information about Fallen, Vex etc.
However unless I am mistaken if anyone on those platforms chooses to go to PC and even if they have both their console and PC accounts linked on Bungie.net that they don't get any of this dialogue. This is a shame cause people who are veterans going to PC get the same dialogue as new players.
Do you think we could get some kind of toggle or such that allows for players to hear the veteran dialogue, it's a small thing yes but I feel like it feels more rewarding and familiar to have characters in-game be able to recognise past accomplishments from veteran players.

This and the community is why I don’t play on PC. I played Red War and everything felt strange looking at it from a new players perspective as everything just seems to fall into place. Now with account transfers this will probably fix the issue however for New Light Players I still think Veteran Dialogue should be able to be toggled on and off. A good example of how this would fix things was when Destiny 2 came out I played the first 4 hours and continue to play it on Console. I decided to play the PC version with my Girlfriend and some other friends and the one problem they had was a lack of context for certain characters which I then had to tell them about. The example I want to pin point is on the first Titan mission where Zavala says “No one has seen Cayde, Ikora or Eris since the city fell” which was a reply to Ghost talking about the Hive on the planet which is a great nod for veterans. However the Hive are simply brushed off for non veteran accounts and I think a good way of introducing them would be for Zavala to brief the player on their history thus far in the events and also give hints to Eris Morn being an expert on the Hive. Doing this will give context to the faction and a major character in the franchise which could encourage exploration of the Destiny 1 Grimoire and Wiki Pages.
