This hot topic has been ignored by Bungie for almost a year now.
Masterwork cores should only be for masterworking, not infusing.
I've only masterworked 1 freaking weapon because I wanted to infuse guns and gear that I liked using.

This topic in particular has been very hot in the last few months, with Bungie engaging regularly. I would encourage you to check their recent posts on their bungie.net profile to see specific links to the discussions. Here are a few examples I have found in the last 5 minutes:
Discussion post : https://www.bungie.net/en/forums/post/252452464?showBanned=1&path=2 Cozmo response : https://www.bungie.net/en/forums/post/251454717?showBanned=1&path=1 TWAB Link during season 6: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/47706 Cozmo response : https://www.bungie.net/en/forums/post/251371604?showBanned=1&path=1 Cozmo response : https://www.bungie.net/en/forums/post/251341872?showBanned=1&path=1 Recent pinned thread on the topic : https://www.bungie.net/en/forums/post/251717069?showBanned=1&path=1 Discussion post : https://www.bungie.net/en/forums/post/251381996?showBanned=1&path=1
.. not to mention other discussions on Reddit and Twitter. Bungie announced that the were making some changes to acquisition of Cores back during season 6 and that this would be tested over the course of Season 7 (which we're in now). Be sure to share specific feedback around Cores and other game mechanics. But saying that this has been ignored the last year is simply untrue.
