Now that Destiny is being embraced as an MMORPG, rightfully so, I would absolutely love to see Warlocks/Titans/Hunters to be able to take steps further in their own separate directions.
Warlocks in the game right now, obviously are starting to become a support type class. With Lumina, Rifts, Well, Healing grenades... I just saw a build with Lumina+Starfire protocol, you basically turn into a partial healer. I love it, so much. I would absolutely love to see more perks/abilities that allow healing for Warlocks.
Titans, I would love to see become actual tanks. More abilities that allow them to tank damage in pve, or pull aggro from enemies. More abilities to protect teammates.
Hunters even, pushing them into a more unique role would be cool, although to be honest.. No idea what it would be.
I'm not saying to make Warlocks solely healers, I'm not saying to relegate Titans to tanking. I'm saying give us more options to tank, more options to heal.
Also, bring back the old perk system. This would work well with the old perk system in D1. Not so much in D2.

4 RepliesLet me start with saying I’m also glad for the changes. The nerd in me has to be a stickler about something. Gear, skills and perks are not MMO related, they are just RPG elements. MMO needs a high number of people in the same area, that’s it. Massive multiplayer online. In an MMO people in the server can all stand in the same non-instance area. Tens, hundreds, thousands. D2 lets what, nine people share the same patrol zone? Nine people. Just three times a single fireteam limit. You have more people in a single pvp match then can run around in a public zone together. Nothing massive about that at all. Just the opposite. In MMO team based activities have a lower player count then free roam areas. Every single one I’ve played. Everquest raids had 75 man teams (talk about a sight). Meanwhile in the trade hall in the main social hub in the Plane of Knowledge you had more people AFK to sell their stuff. That doesn’t include the people actually playing. Destiny isn’t designed for a high player count. From its coding to game world design. D1 had good RPG elements but D2 watered it down. I’m glad to see it retuning and could either be equal or better. Destiny, from the top down, would need redesigning and coding to enable it to be even MMO lite. The only reason I don’t like people calling non MMOs MMOs is because I don’t want players to lower the standard they expect from Devs. That’ll affect game quality in the future. No one wants their genre watered down because people outside of it redefined it so they could add a label to their favored games. Let’s hope Destiny continues to improve, who knows what could happen with 3, right? Good luck Guardian!

4 RepliesNo. Would ruin the game.

Hunters could be the dps class. The class that had the highest potential damage output. Think golden gun
-
3 RepliesI want the abilty to customized my own guardian. Why cant a titan have a hunter jump with warlock melee.
-
11 RepliesPvp. Give any class the ability to tank extra damage and they become meta.

1 ReplyMy hunter with nighthawk can have 7-8 resilience 7-8 recovery and with lucky pants 4-6 resilience and 8-9 recovery if i lose those stats for mt hunter ill be hugely disappointed

13 RepliesNo. I want to play Destiny not overwatch but thanks

If it's truly going mmo than warlocks heal, Titans tank and hunters control

I think they may have considered tanking options but are worried about how it may play out in Crucible. But it would be awesome if people demanded Titans to use some kind of very strong super-armor ability so they are great at surviving some kind of relic-running role during end-game, or to draw aggro. Mid-tree sentinel has been useful for Heroic Menagerie bosses to block attacks. There really just hasn't been enough activities designed where people will beg people to bring a Titan to help like during D1. As long as that need is met, there will be clear roles for all three classes I think.

5 Replies... as a warlock... I never wanted this.. i just wanna do space magic without HAVING to be a paramedic..

2 RepliesYep definitely would be happy to see Bungie give players the ability to really specialise in a role if they want. Could give Hunters the chance to specialise as glass cannons. More damage at the expense of less armour or something.
-
Hunters = rogue/dps Warlocks = mage/priest/healer Titans = paladin/warriors Titans should absolutely be tanks, they need something that makes them unique in their class, right now they are kind of just a soldier class
-
Usually hunters in MMORPG games are the ones that can deal big amounts of damage fast. Hunters are usually dps classes.

Edited by Whoa: 7/8/2019 9:46:35 AMTitans tank with the towering barricade and with the sentinel super. Totally agree it would be cool to see them step further with the ideas tho. Edit: They also have melee abilities dedicated to over-shields as well.

A second healthbar for titans so there is actually something to be healed.

1 ReplyBungie added in an exotic arms that allows you to use swords with 0 energy cost. Literally able to use a sword for huge tanking ability. Make sure you use a sword with increased defense as you dont need efficiency. Top tier Sentinel for better ranking, middle for better support, bottom for more offense as a tank. It's pretty broken for survivability. Capable of taking 5+ boss slams or 3 with blackout. Can survive a spider tanks red beam rocket. You can even time attacks when you get better to heal yourself instead of damage. Learn to use this and you have a tank.

This is a huge one for me I would love this. It would also be cool if each class has thier own way of going about it. Like titans commander subclass is super cool and both supports/tanks. But none of its other subclasses have that feature... It would be cool if ward of dawn healed those inside of it or something. Hunters have shadowshot upping resilliance recove and mobility on kills which I like. And have arc tree to psudo tank. I want to see more supers/subclasses/talents to be tweaked a bit to showcase these elements more. Alongside being able to do stuff like wear 2 pieces of exotic armor etc. Then the final piece on the cake is make bossfights that have more dynamic mechanics. I love the menagerie bosses but ones like the ogre dont really have mechancis. Its just an immune ogre. Ide like to see stuff like maybe a minotaur ogre that teleports, and can physically grab you and throw you. But not insta kill you.

2 RepliesI agree with this concept... lean into the classes native attributes more. I would shift the Warlock though... they should be the best PvE super as space magic should be highest damage. Titans should be more tanky and the only ones who can reach 10 resilience, Hunters should be weaker defense but fastest and only ones able to reach agility of 10. Then spread the 1-10 out more so it really matters. A Titan should, for example, ought the need 3x the shots to kill in PvP vs a Hunter but be super slow or something. Multiple options here but needs to be far deeper into their character attributes. The classes have all migrated to be very similar instead of the opposite, being VERY different. Mostly due to PvP of course...

I have thought about this some. For Titan especially, being able to hold the nade button to put up a brief shield they can walk with and hipfire behind would be kinda awesome. Uses grenade energy up to protect themselves and allies from incoming fire to make a safe escape or devastating push. Wouldn’t need to last more than 3 seconds either. Might be really annoying in pvp without some mobility upgrades for hunters. Holding melee could cause the Titan to shout, making minions of darkness aim at them personally, to create an opening for allies. In pvp, this skill could just increase enemy guardian aim assist on them. No defense boost for using this, gotta pair it up or use as a diversion. Maybe a 3-5 second up time, and uses up melee energy. Admittedly, this could cause some infuriating scenarios for enemy snipers... then again, maybe they take the Titan out easier. It’s not a perfect idea, though. It could cause some problems, regarding raid scenarios and party building... but I don’t play those parts of the game, so it would be hard for me to comment on that. Pvp might get out of hand if we go further down that path as well. Still, fun to think about.

Of all the very few things Anthem got right, class diversity was one of them. Colossus played extremely different from a Storm which was completely different from a Interceptor. We don't need to speak of the sadness that is the Ranger. Each class currently is hardly diverse in what they can do. I'd love to see each class pushed into a more unique, feature driven style of combat.

Edited by BITCOINxMILLIONAIRE: 7/8/2019 3:22:48 AMTop tree sentinel. My favorite subclass. Synthoceps, 1-2 punch shotty. Lumina for that extra support. bunch of melee mods. Give your teammates overshields

17 RepliesEdited by RAUDRULF: 7/7/2019 8:11:09 AMif they are going full on MMORPG ULTRALORD i want the following. Warlocks: Summon a bunch of Halfling Skinless Thrall to horde attack enemies, while wearing anything but a dress. Titans: take away all firing weapons and give them an extra set of arms. see that ketch? no problem, i will just Punch it to death with flaming hammers while skating on this shield here while shooting electric bolts out of my eyes. Hunters: sit in a tree and make clicking noises, as their shoulder cannon trace their prey. Crucible would be Turned based combat that you engage in by collecting Cards. the Shattered throne is now a board game.

Edited by HollowedWayfarer: 7/7/2019 7:24:22 PMSomething I think would be cool is to give a passive ability to each class that’s active regardless of modifiers, Subclass, or debuffs. Warlocks: Warlock’s Attunement- Increases healing and damage over time effects by 15% for themselves and allies whenever they cast an ability. Gain 3 points in Recovery. Titans: Titan’s Code- Have a 30% chance to instantly gain a strong overshield whenever they fall to 10% or lower in health. Gain 3 points in Strength. Hunters: Hunter’s Path- Faster to vault over obstacles and are able to wall run for a brief period. Gain 3 points in Mobility.

Not a bad idea.

Hopefully you add a part to get rid of these effects in pvp
