I see both sides of the argument. But my biggest rebuttal is to the people saying it'll ruin it. IF they implement matchmaking options for things, it will in no way effect those people who already have fireteams and fight the idea so much.

 • See like I'm completely open minded to an argument here, but I have racked my brain trying to think of what negative impact it would have on the specific people who hate the idea so much lol. Please someone educate me

 • See, heres the thing: people are demanding matchmaking for an activity that is liable to take a fair few hours to clear. If you can dedicate a few hours to an activity, one would think you (this is a general "you" btw, not yourself specifically) could put some time into finding/assembling a group via the groupfinder on here, or elsewhere (or on your console dashboard if you're on XB1). The other thing is the likelihood of people leaving if they see that things arent going to be a cakewalk (see what went on in The Reckoning) which in all likelihood will be every group ever. The one thing we know for sure is that for all aforementioned reasons in past threads (trolls, micless, thumbless, people wanting a carry, impatience, time constraints, coming in blind etc etc) we all know matchmade completion rates would be abysmal, and the general outcome would be frustration. And this begs the question - whats the point of something if it largely leads to frustration? Where is the logic behind "I want to do this time-consuming activity, but I cant spare the time or effort to use the groupfinder on this very app"? What is the point of matchmaking if all it leads to is endless wipes on the first encounter, with only the occasional clear due to the stars and planets aligning and putting together 6 players who are mic'd, co-operative and likely KWTD?

 • Thank you so much for the first intellectual argument I've received in the forum! Lol. A lot of that definitely makes sense to me for sure. I usually play solo so after reckoning I am no stranger to the hopelessness of matchmaking sometimes haha

 • I've LFG'd the majority of my Raids, but then I'm on XB1 so its much much easier for me than my PS4 counterparts. Sure there are some groups where I've had to hold my nose, some which havent been as advertised (if I'm asked to "KWTD and have clears" I dont expect the dude who asked that to repeatedly wipe the group on the first encounter lol) but for the most part it works really well and I wish Bungie would copy/paste XB1 LFG's framework into the game. Just make it a billboard in the tower on which you post what you want to do, and what you're looking for. Other players can browse through and register interest, which in turn gives you a notification. You can then use that notification to invite them to your fireteam, or just into party chat if you dont want to twiddle your thumbs in orbit. Wash rinse repeat until you have a group ready to rock n roll.

 • That is actually a really awesome idea. Sort of like a bounty board in MH World.

 • yeah I somewhat agree with that, I think they might just not quite get that it would be optional or maybe they think that it would maybe lesson the amount of people on there lfg? I'm not quite sure
