The "pricing correction" in Steam for Argentinian players is a nonsense, more inside

BUNGIE REPLIED: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/252708482?sort=0&page=0&path=1 Thank you all for those who replied and supported, and hope some people learn new things instead of being willingly ignorants. ----------------- Yesterday, an user who doesn't play the game since May 13th, posted a complain about the REGIONALIZED price of Shadowkeep for Argentina. This resulted in a blindly increase of 330-390% in the price in less than 15 minutes, ONLY because a user who doesn't play the game complained about the price being "too low". Starting with "What's a regionalized price?" Those are prices (in this case) suggested by Valve for each region/country, considering the economic situation in each of them. Knowing about Latin American general economies, we usually have lower prices than the standar in US (in this case 35USD // 55USD), depending on both the game and the dev who is setting it (since Steam allows the dev to set their own prices). In yesterday's case, a "user" complained and a moderator who doesn't understand about regionalized prices (based on his responses) "passed the feedback" without even checking his facts. We're the only country affected by this. The current price is way too high for anyone living here, it's basically 18% of the minimum wage. ------------------- Now some data so you can better understand this: To make it clearer why the current price is a nonsense, i'll use numbers: • The current price (deluxe edition, to simplify) in Argentina is 2200ARS. That's 52.70USD rn. • The minimum wage in USA is 7.25USD/hour, which is 1160USD/month considering 8 hours long work journeys, and 5 days a week. • The minimum wage in ARGENTINA is 12500ARS/month, which is 300USD, and basically translates into 1.33USD/hour. This means that the current price for the US is equivalent to 4.74% of the monthly income, while in ARGENTINA it's 17.6%. --------------------- Using some other Latin American countries as examples: In CHILE the price of the game is CLP $22500 (33USD~). The minimum wage is 300.000CLP (441USD~) which means that the game is worth 7.5% of the monthly income. In BRAZIL the price of the game is R$109,99 (29USD~). The minimum wage is 1000R (263USD~) which means that the game is worth 11% of the monthly income. In COLOMBIA the price of the game is COL$82500 (26USD~). The minimum wage is 830.000COL (260USD~) which means that the game is worth 10% of the monthly income. In URUGUAY the price of the game is $U1199 (34USD~). The minimum wage is 15000$U (426USD~) which means that the game is worth 8% of the monthly income. All of them around 10% (or less), while we're now sitting at almost 18%. ------------------ So we went from 650ARS$ (which is about 5.28% of the monthly income) to almost 4 TIMES that price, in matter of minutes, because a guy just wanted to screw an entire country. The Spanish forums are full of complaints about the new pricing and this moderator (which is the only one there) doesn't even say a word about it, neither does Bungie. Please, either revert the price or set it to a more accessible one.

 • If a game is to expensive for the country you live in, perhaps its something you can't actually afford. You don't get to devalue someone elses work simply because your county does not produce enough money for you to afford things. Explain why you should be paying a few dollars for the game when in the USA its far more, and it is made and produced there? Thats why we have exchange rates. You want something, you need to pay the equivilant value for it regardless of where in the world you buy it.
