Is lumina the original rose or is it our own?
So I was thinking about it cause I'ma be honest, I was sorta disappointed with how "rose"/lumina looks. But then I thought about it and is this yor's original rose or did we use his rose to craft our own version. [spoiler]I want a rose exotic, not this lumina crap[/spoiler] Edit: so I know lumina is our own gun, and since this was all about looks I can be a tad bit happier now, cause it ain't rose.

1 ReplyWe purified thorn to revert it back into rose. Them we turned rose into lumina with our own strength. So it is a gun that we made ourselves.. The first weapon of light.

6 RepliesWe cleansed the thorn and got back the original rose. Despite the legends, the original rose wasn’t something all that special. It’s a decent gun all on its own, but other than that it’s just a basic handcannon, which when used in the right hands is deadly. People thought the rose was something very special because of how proficient yor was with it before he turned.

4 RepliesIf you read the lore, the rose we used as a legendary was the original rose. Also Shin Malphur says there wasn’t anything innately special about the rose, just the guardian using it. We took the original thorn, purified it to the original rose, and further imbued it with light to make something completely our own: The Lumina.

4 Replies1. Yes Lumina is made out of the original rose that we purified (read the description of the quest) 2. Yes rose was originally Thorn, we had to dump it in orbs of light just to remove the Thorn corruption 3. Rose is literally just a hand gun without any power, that's what made it special 4. Lumina is awesome

The lore would suggest that Rose is the orignal and acts like a catalyst feeding of the wielder becoming either a weapon of light or darkness based on the wielder so in theory the Rose could be used to create something inbetween something thats a mix of light and dark which would of been more interesting... -

The rose is the regular old legendary hand cannon. The rose was just a hand cannon that Rezzyl Azzir liked to use when fighting. There wasn’t anything special about it. We took the thorn and removed the taint from it, reverting it to the original hand cannon, the Rose. We then took the Rose and instead of making a weapon of darkness like Rezzyl/Yor did, we made a weapon of light.

1 ReplyWe probably took a recreated Thorn and not the original. Dredgens have Thorns. We scrubbed it clean of Darkness and made Lumina.

The rose we made was the original rose. We took the original thorn and turned it into the original rose, which we then made into a new opposite of thorn called lumina. Ming=blown

Shin handed us the original Thorn, Rezyl Azzir’s cannon. Using 250 orbs of Light, we scrubbed away the gun’s sickness to uncover the Rose, the original cannon that was transformed into Thorn. Using the original Rose, we took it down a different path, and transformed it into the Lumina using feats of Light and teamwork. Where the Rose once turned into Thorn, a weapon of Sorrow, it is now Lumina, a weapon of Hope. If you need any more convincing that the Rose we used is the original, I’ll go find and quote the quest steps once I’ve made it home.

1 ReplyRose was nothing more than a basic HC. Yor was just an well above average in crucible so everyone THOUGHT it was good. But the legendary we get is to some extent the OG rose. its basic, very few perks, and can do work in the right hands Thorn was origionally what happened to the OG rose. Yor changed it with darkness to make it thorn. The thorn we have isnt the origional, its just a remade remake from one of yors followers. Lumina is the light to the darkness. What would have happened if yor had used light to make it stronger rather than darkness. An alternate timeline if you will. Rose was just a simple HC turned legend by a highly skilled wielder and nothing more. Yor was just that good so everyone just assumed his HC was exceptionally gifted as well.

1 ReplyWell at the beginning of the quest shin gave us the ACTUAL Thorn. Not one the replicas like we already made but the genuine thorn that killed Pahanin, Thalor, Jaren Ward and countless more. We used or light to cleanse it. Thorn was originally rose so we had Rezyl’s original hand cannon. That’s the actual rose Rezyl used to kill Xyor’s broodmate. But where Xyor used hive magic and darkness to remake the rose into thorn we used light and purity to remake rose into Lumina.

Lumina is the product of us cleansing and infusing the weapon with light much like how Thorn was the product of Yor infusing the darkness into Rose by grafting hive bones onto it. Kind of like how Eevee evolves in Pokémon
