Ever since Lumina was released today and described as the exact opposite of Thorn, I've been curious about Remnants. Are they actual concepts within the lore or do they exist purely within the game as simply mechanics?
I've been under the impression that Remnants were parts of a victims very being/soul and that Thorn absorbed them to become stronger. Upon hearing that Lumina creates Remnants too according to the perk (I don't have it yet), what makes Lumina any better if that is the case? They both prey on a victim's soul if that fact holds true no matter what the use may be.

Your literally ripping the souls out of things you kill with both weapons and using them to gain power.

2 RepliesThe difference is the perspective of the wielder, and the purpose behind the weapon. Thorn was created to sap the light out of guardians/everything, Lumina is a weapon made to empower the light of fellow guardians. There really isn't much of an explanation for the remnants, however, the energy we gain from them is being put to better use in healing than it is sucking the life out of something.

2 RepliesYou're just realizing now that Light feeds on death? There is virtually no difference between Light & Dark besides the path you follow, but the basic concept is the same.
