What makes playing this activity worth it, is to be able to grab the chest multiple times in hopes to get the roll you want, or get the armor set you want. It still takes a lot of time playing this. I think I've played it 18 times (never played a raid more than 3 times mind you, or even played 2 of the raids in the game at all). And I still don't have the rolls I want, nor the loot. There is so many combinations and loot that it will probably take me another 30-50 runs trying to get what I want.
If you fix the chest so we can only grab it once. It really won't be worth playing. It will be annoying as hell doing it to only get one item. The most I been able to get is 5 and out of the 5 items I got, I deleted 4 and kept the 5th roll and it isn't even what I want.
So again, it might be a cheese. But it really isn't benefiting us like you guys might think it is. It's fun to do, its great to get about 12-20 legendary shards out of doing and the chance of getting someone WE want, is nice.
Remember in D1 there was a chest cheese when we done the patrols and the chests used to drop. After you guys fix it. Look at how many people stopped playing it. Me and my friends done it all the time. Then the fix came out, then when the activity started. We ignored it and moved a long.
So again, Don't fix this, it's one of the best things to happen to the game in a long time. I'll stop playing this activity if I only get to open the chest once. It won't be worth playing at all and it's a fun activity. The best one you guys made actually and you're about to -blam!- it up! (doing what bungie does best, make something fun to mess it up later).

2 RepliesEdited by Gelatinous: 7/1/2019 3:34:09 PMAll these people complaining that Menagerie takes 20-30 minutes and how the activity is not rewarding. Like, tf? Have you used big brain at all lately? Being able to choose the gun is incentive enough for one to play. Most runs of Menagerie take about 10 minutes. So 10 minutes for any weapon/armour that I want is bad and not worth farming? Grow up people. Getting “God Rolls” is the reason the chest cheese is being patched. Most of y’all are just sheep, following whatever big Youtuber said is the best rolls for x gun. The real kicker is that most of the player base is too scared to stray from “God Rolls”. They never experiment for themselves and only use what’s considered best. Learn to live a little and try something new. Then, maybe, y’all won’t b!tch so much once unintended mechanics are hotfixed out.

Yeah ive got what i wanted out of it so now its useless to me at this point, ill probably only d heroic once just to say i done it cause theres nothing really worth it to me there either
-
I've got all that I want. The event is redundant now. The best part of it was not the actual event but how many times you could make it back and forth.
-
I don’t really mind them fixing it and it IS a bug and it only really changes how easy it is to farm a god roll that said I feel they should compromise and add an extra two chests. One guaranteed for killing the boss and a extra chest for every encounter that you finish before the timer runs out for a total of three chests a run.
-
It was a bug. You were never meant to be able to grab the chest multiple times. It was not a nerf, you are not being punished, it was a b u g.
-
2 RepliesSeems like a lot of people are calling this a nerf, when they're fixing a bug. What a shame, they'll have to play for like an hour to get their rewards.

Being able to open the chest only once is way too little. Opening the chest 6 times is maybe too much. Bungie should give 3 chests at the end. A timer of a few minutes so you can figure out what to put in your chalice. I think I've opened between 30 and 45 chests hoping to get a no distractions + box breathing Beloved. Still haven't gotten it. If Bungie makes it so that we can only 1 chest at the end I'm done with the Menagerie. :(
-
Agreed it’s going to affect player base
-
1 ReplyThis "fix" will kill participation in the Menagerie. Get what you can while you can.
-
Yeah I won’t play it again once it’s patched
-
Typical Bungie. Stumble upon something that unites and engages the entire community, only to nerf it and piss everyone off, bum them out, and send people packing again. They will never, ever understand what players want.
-
1 ReplySo they can fix a glitch that benefits and makes players happy, but not lord of wolves which ruins PVP in it's current state. Smh
-
I love how everyone complains. Made my day
-
2 RepliesSo let me get this straight... You're going to leave this bug alone for 6 weeks or so, let all the "hardcore" players farm everything they want and then as it starts to become naturally less relevant anyway you're going to make it 80% less desirable to do? Sounds like a great way to make sure it's completely dead content less than 2 months after it's released. Being able to choose the masterwork is a great step in the right direction but the odds are still so terrible given the relatively large number of combinations that it's only bearable to try to chase a perfect roll if you can do 5 at a time.

Edited by Xc_LuxZenRa: 6/30/2019 7:45:49 PMI would settle for 3 but knowing bungie they most likely won't. Either way: to say it is not worth grinding is a bit absurd. Depending on your team the menagerie is a fast activity to complete for a specific weapon/armor. It will be far from worthless because this function is nowhere else in the game. It is a very fun activity. Telesto FTW. I wish i had the damn catalyst though...

I’m having fun with it It’s gonna suck when it gets patched

Also it kinda kills the pretence of the dlc title opulence having some meaning around wealth and abundance (note the later their fixing with chest patch)

I was thinking in bringing up this topic, but it is already here... Here is what I personally think about it: 1. Being able to take 5 items (more sometimes, but take average of 5) on a run where one spends 20 to 30 minutes is awesome; This can bring up valuable telemetry to Bungie on how decent rolls usually drop and good gear for the people. 2. Worst bugs have been left for much more time and some didn't even got fixed; By worse I mean 'more harmful' to game fair play. Remember the bug on Omnigul in Destiny 1? How many farmed it for countless hours? 3. Being able to take 5 items (see 1), makes people play more normal activities like crucible or strikes to farm runes. This is a huge plus. By killing menagerie chest bug, I know for myself I wont play as much other activities because there's no point on it. 4. 20 to 30 minutes for a single drop is not worth. Menagerie will not be played that much after the bug, I know I wont. For example, running a hidden sector for Dust Rock Blues gives more drops in 20/30 minute span than menagerie. So why do menagerie? Please Bungo, dont kill this on a game which is going to see a new expansion in 2 months. There's no point on this. Let us finish this big time with decent gear. If you ignore the people, then here's my word: I already got everything I wanted so I don't care... But I would liek others to also be able to enjoy good rolls on weapons. A good roll wont mean one gets OP. Skill is still skill.

3 RepliesIf they fix the chest and do nothing about imperial drop rates from other activities, upgrading the chalice will take forever.
-
The fact u used the word fix means u agree it's broken. 👍
-
5 RepliesOp "Plz no, don't take ma cheese" Majority of the comments "Grade A muppet here" Seriously dude you are directly asking for a 'cheese' NOT to be fixed. You do know how stupid that is right? Its like asking your matchmade team to PTO in control...
-
by the time they’ll fix it. I‘m done with it. the only thing I need is the chalice fully upgraded and that’s it! If I only knew that the izanagi catalyst would require masterworked chalice I would’ve played more menagerie from the beginning, but I still have time left and for those who want to grind the specific rolled weapons: I wish you luck!

This week at Bungie: We're leaving the menagerie chest as is by adding 4 chests to the end, but removing the extra timer. Every single activity will get 4 more loot drops. This includes: Forges Reckoning Gambit Crucible Infusion, core purchase, planetary material purchase, and collection reacquisition legendary shard cost will be increased by a factor of 10x. So, infusions that used to cost 5 shards now take 50. Masterwork and infusion enhancement core costs will be increased by a factor of 10x. So, infusions that used to cost 3 will take 30. Happy hunting ;^)

Yeah totally agree, it's a fun weapon farm and has been exploited long enough for it not to be fixed, fixing it is pointless now. Yes it was a bug, but it got people playing and enjoying destiny again.
