I mean... even if they patch the chest...
Three Powerful drops of your choosing per week...
The gear you get is of your own choosing, so you'll get what you want... minus rolls.
You can't fail it on normal mode- and it drops powerfuls at max level if you get up there...
At most if you have people who know how to do it, takes at least 15-20 minutes per run- or less if you get Gauntlet and you fire some grenade launchers or Wardcliff at the finish line if you get lucky to get Gauntlet early.
So yeah you can't run multiple times in one run... but will this really kill the Menagerie? No. People will still be running it, farming rolls and powerful gear.
Just like how people still farm the Forges.

I haven’t seen a soul in the forges in weeks. It will be the same for this as everyone will basically be 750 with the rolls they want on their guns. Once you have your triumphs and seal completed...why bother.

I was just in there an hour ago, Bergusia and Gofanon. Pretty lively in them- most folk don't have Jotun yet, so there's still a reason to do it.

Lately 90% of the time I have been in a forge has been solo as the ‘power’ drop was just a +1 or +2 at most. They will do exactly the same to all the old content come shadowkeep.

Most people are already ballpark 750 by now, so what the hell is the point of powerful gear when it doesn’t do much? The only activity that requires you to grind for 750 is heroic menagerie, and it doesn’t provide enough incentive outside of swords and masterwork gear to be worthwhile enough to do frequently.

When new content comes out like Shadow Keep? You need powerful gear, menagerie is a source of that. Same with the Forges. But... even with that, no one will do them cause they just want to do the new stuff that comes out- complaining they have nothing to do to level up power level, despite there being several sources if Bungie doesn't lock the light level of those items like Leviathan. But... I doubt they will, because of the items you get out of them- and them saying you can keep the stuff you get and bring it forward. Regardless... not everyone has god rolls, let alone decent rolls- cause not everyone is lucky. Sure some are already 750- heck my Hunter is 745, be 750 next week or a few days of Primes. Farming for the god rolls on the weapons you can get from menagerie, or heck even Enhanced Armor which drops also from menagerie in the form of Dreaming City armor or the Exodus Down armor and even Menagerie Armor... Me personally, I've gotten close on Austringer rolls but never the perfect ones. Myself- and many others want 'perfection' out of a god roll... or at least somewhere in the '90% God Roll' range. Which... can be a struggle to get if RNG is not on your side. The perfect Beloved Sniper, the perfect Austringer... or even the perfect Erintele, or Trust- Dust Rock and Parcel of Stardust... The only reason to keep going back into menagerie... God Rolls.
