I was just playing some missions and thinking about this the races in Destiny all seem to have a basic characteristic of one of the seven deadly sins
Lust- Taken (male /female...light/dark)
Gluttony-Calis/Cabal
Greed-Hive
Sloth-Vex
Waith-Scorned
Envy-Fallen
Pride- The Gaurdians
This is just an observation and I can go into details why these fit so well but I figure if I am posting this on the Lore section most of you will understand already. Just want to see what others think of this.

I can see it. Hell...Bungie has made numerous religious "Easter eggs" in the past. Mainly with their Halo series.
-
The hive aren’t greedy, if they were they would break the rules for their personal gain, but all hive follow the sword logic
-
I don’t think these really work.
-
*what about siva*

Here are the best explanations I could come up for regarding each one: Lust: Taken - Desire the frames of other races Gluttony: Cabal - "Grow fat from strength" Greed: Hive - Want to infest the entire solar system Sloth: Vex - Wait until the pattern needs correction Wrath: Scorn - Driven by hatred for the Fallen Envy: Fallen - Hate the guardians because the Traveler left the Eliksni for them Pride: Guardians - Believe they are unkillable godslayers

1 ReplyEnvy definitely fits the Fallen, but I think Greed (or Avarice) fits too, to a lesser extent; the Fallen scavenge and horde as much as they can but, this is for survival, not mere greed. The Hive fit Lust more than the Taken imo, as the Taken follow the will of the Hive god in charge (was Oryx, now likely Savathûn). The Taken are indiscriminate, but as detailed by the old Taken grimoire cards, they don't really have a will of their own and so they don't particulatly fit any of the 7 too well. The Hive however, lust after light and power through the sword logic. If the Hive embodied greed, they'd be after the light or power just for the sake of having it.

4 RepliesMost of theses make sense but I’m curious how does lust meet with the taken?
-
Lust and greed are a little sketchy, while gluttony could apply to the Hive as well as the Cabal
-
2 RepliesI don't get vex as sloth but ok
-
What is up with lust and this light/dark nonsense?
-
Bungie does like 7.

Vanity is my favorite...sin.

I loved that anime

1 ReplyVex = Sloth?

2 RepliesEdited by Spooky_Ari: 6/26/2019 5:32:42 PMGuardians totally have Pride. Yep. 🤭

1 ReplyWeak minded constructs of a limited cerebral capacity. Created by the powerful and wealthy to limit competition for power and resources.

Pride definitely fits us. The number of times I've just stuck Anarchy grenades to a boss and just sat down and laughed is getting quite high.
-
I think those things just apply to all the factions. They're easy elements to use when writing because they're so easily defined.

2 RepliesAtleast spell it right 😪 Calus & Wrath

3 RepliesThe reason the Vex and sloth fit is that they are patient they dont even have to take action they rerun their simulations make decisions slowly and with purpose only after the calculated action is decided on do they act.....no hasty action....no energy wasted.....thats why I think they fit sloth.....thanks for the input

4 RepliesI feel like Vex and Sloth don’t really go together-the Vex are a huge collective of minds that transform entire planets and systems into their own programming. But the other ones fit pretty awesome! I love the Lust and Taken one.

1 Reply<Wrath would better fit the Darkness.>
