I think there is too much time on planet spent NOT contributing to this number. I think it would be more fun if you could be doing PATROLS while doing the rest of the activities and have them all count.
Start patrol- kill fallen...
Kill fallen while you wait for the public event to start...
Finish patrol during the event, start the next one. Finish it while you are on your way to a lost sector...
Start another one on your way to the next public event.
This just seems more engaging to me than the current system that occasionally just has you walking and waiting.

Bungle using their infinite wisdom took that away.

Agreed, patrols should absolutely count towards the flashpoint completion. Even it was something as low as 1%. If I'm doing the flashpoint I'm picking up patrols while I do other things.
-
Public events should happen waaay more often on the flashpoint. Like pretty much constant in each area. And more mini events too. This would be way more in keeping with the definition of a flashpoint than the current situation.
-
Also, Escalation Protocol sorely needs to count towards the flashpoint on Mars.
-
I agree.
-
It used to be that way didnt it? I think somewhere along the line Bungie decided that between the one public event that happens every 15 hours, and mindless yellow bar majors, that people somehow still weren't spending enough time on Mercury. So Patrols stopped counting across the board, Majors stopped counting on Mercury, and Adventures and Lost Sectors started giving inconsistent progression values.
-
like 2 public events and the heroic. Maybe a couple of the add ons for the remaining 10%. It should take like a 1/2 hour.
-
Heroic adventures and public events are fine. You can’t play the adventure and 2 or 3 PEs? Patrols yield resources. It’s like asking for shooting or jumping or casting supers in PvP to count towards the milestone. 2/3 PEs are run in 10min max. 5 pvp games take a little less than an hour. Same yield.
-
Its fast travel fun for everyone. Good ideas man!!! Bungie listen up!
-
Well certain planets i can finish flashpoint in 15 mins. Others (looking at you mercury) can take so damm long i just skip it the week its up. Earth by far is the easiest.
-
I agree, everything even just killing enemies should count as something.
-
Then they'll up the percentage we need to complete a flash point.
-
HVT should count as well On Mars Escalation Protocol should also count.

Mercury needs some serious help. -
Edited by Dubfire33: 6/26/2019 2:48:42 PMI finished it in just like 30mins last night. Picked up the 3 bounties, did heroic adventure, 2 lost sectors, 2 hpe's finished off bounties in the process boom, done.
-
Heroic Public events should drop Purple loot!
-
I mean, why though? It’s literally just there so you inadvertently accumulate planetary materials and get a little power bump, or a prime engram. Flashpoint is not endgame.
-
make everything worth less then
-
Adventures count like 20-30%
-
I thought patrols did count but the marker only goes up 5 or 10% at a time and patrols don’t give that much? Could be wrong, I don’t really do them to complete a flash point, I swear it’s happened before though?
-
Spending a 1/2 on a planet, doing 4 to 5 public events ,is entirely to time comsuming.
