Edit:Consolidated
Strike bounties that require a large ammount of kills, presumably to span a few weeks, encourage players to exploit maps to farm those kills in lost sectors.
This negatively impacts the experience of those wishing to play strikes the way they were designed, and should somehow be addressed.
Negative Impacts include, but are not limited to:
-Locking forward progress, physically preventing the strikers from advancing.
-Long travel times from lost sectors to the strike, which again, may be glitched and impossible to proceed.
-Soloing every encounter, while not impossible, is tedious, and not in the nature of the three man strike, increasing time, decreasing rewards, and therefore value of the playlist.
-people, who have acquired the bounty prize (wendigo) legitimately, have their achievement belittled by someone using an exploit to get the weapon in only an hour or so.
Several ways to handle this exist, such as putting up kill zones into the strike area that prevent detouring too far into the game world, or making bounties tied directly to strike targets that do not exist in the game world elsewhere. Obviously that is bungies call, but it needs to happen, before future bounties create this problem again.

2 RepliesI'm still able to play them though...how are they unplayable???

I just finished 3 strikes on my Hunter and I didn’t have any issues. I used a Fighting Lion to make a little progress towards the Wendigo. I didn’t take all of the kills. Teammates popped supers and I let them create orbs.

Edited by Corrick II: 6/24/2019 3:43:25 PMThis is from somewhat of an opposite perspective but I never found strikes annoying until I tried to actually complete one of the quests. Now I just wish strikes could be soloed. Bungie has set it up so we literally get in each other's way when we try to do certain Quests and it just adds to the frustration. I know these quests are supposed to be done over time through "natural" gameplay, and in Bungie's fantasy world that would work. But weapons become obsolete so fast and the game is enough of a tedious grind already that playing "naturally" is completely un-enjoyable. This is why players complain they can't complete the Iron Banner quest quickly, or complete other quests quickly. It's not that we're lazy and want things handed to us, it's that we're starved for fresh content and tired of playing the same crap over and over to get it.

You gotta solo it
-
2 RepliesGuys he actually says he can solo a strike, so relax.....
-
Edited by Maskerader: 6/25/2019 5:04:56 PMWell, my personal experience is kinda the opposite or it's just a coincidence, I dunno. It feels like strikes are less annoying now, there are less "runners" who ignore everyone and just run past all enemies to the boss, and more people who actually try to play together. Not that I need teammates to complete a strike, but playing as a team, a fireteam, is a different experience than going solo. And when I load a strike playlist this is the experience I'm expecting. I upwoted the post nonetheless. Bungie made a mistake by making the pursuit exclusively for matchmade strikes, and it left people frustrated. It's not good.

3 RepliesThey should have made it possible to do this in a nightfall so we don't have to impact other players. Even the Gambit bow quest is a horrible design because it ruins the matches for those wanting to win. These two quests cause so much unnecessary animosity that could have easily been avoided.

People need to stop being afk in the beginning of strikes.....for 8mins of the 12 min strike. Or bungie needs to make solo-able strikes/strikes solo-able. I just quit if someone goes in a different direction of the strike or just sits there at spawn ....buuuuut at the same time I've been on that afk side but only because one of the Rugrats kids needs me to do something or work calls, random stuff. That's why I wish we had more solo games like destiny (destiny not D2 atm) where I could pause it save my spot.

25 RepliesHow about making weapon grinds not so boringly long and requiring ‘fun’ steps instead? 🤷🏻♂️
-
5 RepliesIt’s also “interesting “ to load into the blind well to do Petra’s bounty for the week and find yourself with 3 or 4 guys all using grenade launchers. Which isn’t bad until the boss phase. Then you realize you’re the only one trying to damage the boss because the others are still concentrating on ads. It’s a bit hard to solo the boss phase of a tier lll blind well.

6 RepliesGuess what this could have been avoided had they made the percentage attainable in nightfalls
-
5 RepliesThis is the result of the requirements, people will always find & use the fastest way available. Alot of people are "lucky" if they get 10 grenade launcher kills running a strike the regular way. People aren't going to run 150 strikes.

1 ReplyEdited by KnavishPlum169: 6/24/2019 10:13:04 PMSo I am kinda confused what bounty or quest is being talked about? anyways, while I haven't dealt with this issue yet (thank goodness) I am sorry to hear this, must suck a lot. I to wonder, is this an issue of people just doing the strike or maybe they aren't doing them because they are not fun. lets face it, strikes are not what they were in D1. We have 4 recycled story missions, no strike loot or a system like skeleton keys. The rotation is god awful, I feel like I only get the Mars "strikes" and the pyramidion once in a while to spice it up, maybe lake of shadows too but that one is kinda better. Bosses are cheap or killed to fast and the environments just seem meh. I loved strikes in D1, but D2 dropped the ball. Sorry about the rant, but maybe it plays a factor into why people are not playing the strikes if they are supposed to be getting kills.

11 RepliesEdited by l Xemnas: 6/24/2019 5:30:52 AMBlame bungie for making a dumbass quest for a weapon most people can only do with a special weapon grenade launcher or heavy. They wouldnt allow you to earn progress in nightfalls. They specifically forced you into doing strikes. So instead of wasting their own time trying to get kills before other people, theyll go to a place where cannon fodder spawns often enough to for everyone to get decent amounts of kills.
-
1 ReplyI see your point, I did this but took the steps to LFG a fire team to grind the well. When I was on the other side of this I just dealt with it. You’re gonna have to expect this when bungie dangles a great weapon in front our noses. Players want it now, not at the end of the season.
-
I play a lot of strikes and have never seen this problem.
-
The problem is that it is more of finding a way to solve a Math problem then it is for the enjoyment of it. You see that in a lot of games involving pursuits .
-
I haven't been on for a few days, what's going on?
-
Edited by Novastone: 6/25/2019 4:25:47 PMIt’s called efficiency who cares if they’re doing it, just form a group problem solved. Whining about it is not really gonna solve anything.

27 RepliesOh boo hoo. Quit your whining. You want us to feel sorry for you cuz you can't handle a strike solo? Nothing says they have to help you, besides the faster they farm the faster they'll go back to doing strikes "normally"
-
3 RepliesI picked up Wendigo quest, equipped 3 grenade launchers and just played the strike playlist as normally would. Yeah, it took me longer, it took about 4 nights, 3 hours or so per night. Some blueberries were cool and saw what I was doing and backed off and let me farm the kills. I only had 1 AFK or abandoned teammate I think out of all them, guess I got lucky? Now when I do strikes, if I see someone using a grenade launcher, I just run passed enemies and let them farm the kills. Sorry you're having bad luck man.
-
I will suggest doing with clan members or friends...you get clan xp doing it.
-
1 ReplyBlame bungie for making us do it in playlist strikes with forced matchmaking and making the quest take waaaaayyyyy too long.
-
Just continue through the strike and jump off the edge. If you die in a no spawn zone they get teleported to you. Plus it will give you asshole chuckles all day.
