By continuously allowing blocked players to grief and harrass once they have been ignored is condoning harrassment. All other games to do not let you see or play with players on your block list just for this reason.
This needs to be patched now.

You should post on a PSN (Sony) feedback forum if you feel strongly about this. This feature (PSN blocking) is not controlled by Bungie and is irrelevant to Destiny 2 - what you're talking about is a platform specific feature. https://www.playstation.com/en-au/get-help/help-library/my-account/parental-controls/how-to-use-your-playstation-4-to-block-or-unblock-a-playstation-/ If you are getting harassed through Destiny 2 directly, you can follow the steps to report a player here : https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12960

1 ReplyBungie all you have to do is look at the comments here and realize the toxic environment you have create in your community. You should allow honest and decent players protections from the loser gamers your game attracts.

19 RepliesEdited by Kell of Kellogs: 6/24/2019 4:20:38 AMI could see this being terribly exploited. If players match against someone better than them, they report them to not match with them again.

3 RepliesSpawn [ninja] we need you on this post. You know what to do.
-
3 RepliesPeople would just exploit it by blocking every good player they meet for the hopes of only playing against easy opponents. I believe Overwatch tried this "you can't match against blocked players" thing and it went horribly wrong. On the other hand I do agree with you and I would like to see this happend but again, it's too easy to exploit.

1 ReplyNot sure about Xbox or PC, but the block feature on PSN is for messages only.
https://www.playstation.com/en-au/get-help/help-library/my-account/parental-controls/how-to-use-your-playstation-4-to-block-or-unblock-a-playstation-/ When should I block a user? If you want to stop another PlayStation Network user from sending you messages you can place them on your block list. This means that although they may send you a message you will not receive it. You can also unblock users at any time. This means that you will begin receiving messages from them again.
If you’re getting messages from people via psn that are inappropriate then report them to psn and let them deal with it. This may include a ban, which would stop them playing destiny all together until the ban is lifted (since destiny requires psplus). Simply blocking their ability to message you won’t and shouldn’t have the same impact. Similarly, if you’re getting grief in game, use the in game reporting tools. keep in mind that the decision on what is inappropriate or griefing or whatever is up to them and not you, so they may decide to do nothing. My point is, you may not like the outcome.
All other games to do not let you see or play with players on your block list just for this reason.
Not true. There may well be some that do this, but it’s not all games at all. My son has blocked a few idiots who have given him a hard time in other games, and he still sees them in lobbies.

1 ReplyOp makes me glad to not play this on my PS4

Let's follow this to its logical conclusion - you block everyone better than you so you don't have to get beaten by them. Everyone else blocks you because they've read this thread, and you'll find yourself in a matchmaking pool of zero, making it impossible for you to ever complete a PvP quest. Is that what you're after?

You get bagged or something?

If thats the case people would block all of the sweaty players and only match nerds. Its unfair to everyone for the matchmaking pools. Thats why

3 RepliesDictionary.com Exploit: a flaw in hardware or software that is vulnerable to hacking or other cyberattacks. a piece of software that takes advantage of such a flaw to compromise a computer system or network. (in a video game) the use of a bug or flaw in game design to a player’s advantage or to the disadvantage of other players. Blocking players does not increase your advantage to win and it does not provide a disadvantage to any player going against you. It is a privacy issue in which players have the personal freedom to choose who they play with. My choice to block you in no way causes you not to have access to the game or its content. On the other hand when you know you are the player that everyone will block it is not an exploit and it shows you should be the one to change not others.

18 RepliesEdited by Lastrights: 6/23/2019 5:17:08 PMWay too many players throw around words they do not actually know the meaning of. By blocking players from grouping once they have been put on the PSN ignore list is not an exploitable action. It is exactly how the sytem is intended to work. Blocking a player is and always should be a way to avoid contact with that individual. Bungie violates that by continuing to match players in game once this action has occurred. In fact I am considering a class action law suit pertaining to this issue because players are blocked for many reason including sexual harrassment and Bungie allows these players access to the victim even after they are attacked.

3 RepliesIf I match with someone better than me, I’ll just block them right? Then I’ll match with all lower skill players and bully them for my own gain. That’s totally not a problem.

3 RepliesEdited by Lastrights: 6/23/2019 7:21:14 PMSony Playstation COMMUNITY CODE OF CONDUCT You may not abuse or harass others, including stalking behavior. Bungie directly violates this by matchmaking players with those whom they have blocked. Players are subjected to continous griefing by those players who continue to exhibit these behaviors knowing there is not consequence for it. If Bungie truly wanted to build a gaming community it would allow players to not be subjected to harrassment and abuse by other gamers. I would point out that Playstation report system places this directly as a responsibility of the game manufacturer to enforce because in game behaviors are Bungie's responsibility.

9 RepliesEdited by TuxyDoh: 6/23/2019 5:14:13 PMthat system would be abused very easily. By blocking anyone who beats you would be altering the match making system. It is also not a privacy violation as there is no private information being exchanged. Just because they are in your game world or pvp match does mean they invade your privacy. If they do something that is against code of conduct, report them via the in game tools.
-
2 RepliesDo you not see the problem with this? You could just block every “sweaty” or whatever player you are against and never match them again just because you got stomped. Also, the block feature blocks someone through playstation but has no connection to bungie.
-
9 RepliesImagine being able to block all the paid carry Luna's/NF players and the game would be a better place. Since Bungie can't balance PVP let the players do it by blocking those they don't want to game with. There wouldn't be any crutch metas and trash gameplay like there is now. If Bungie wont remove certain weapons from the PVP playlist let players block those who use the weapons they don't like.

6 RepliesSo if you get killed by a better player you block them and think that you won’t have to play them again lol you’re too funny
-
Patched? Are you dense?
-
5 RepliesI have blocked players I've randomly met on other games on Xbox. All blocking does is prevents them from seeing your profile and messaging you in any way. It doesn't stop you from meeting the player though
-
2 Repliesmad cus bad

It isn't a privacy violation. Get over yourself
