Better not be Uldren Sov or I will probably quit and never come back. No, I'm not holding my interest in the game for ransom or making demands. What I am doing is explaining why I feel this way and bringing up why I left and came back for Forsaken. I first left Destiny 2 with no intention to come back because the STORY of Curse of Osiris was god-awful and cringy. Honestly felt like I was playing something written by and for children. Now for the reasons why I will absolutely never play Destiny again if Uldren Sov ends up being the Hunter Vanguard leader;
1) He killed Cayde, nobody would realistically follow him
2) He will be a NOOB Guardian with no leadership experience
3) Ikora WOULD NEVER sign off on him being put into that position, and it requires both her and Zavala's vote
4) It's a chance to bring back the Mysterious Stranger, a much more beloved character who is obviously a rogue Guardian. She could be written into the role quite easily and quite well.

Hunter vanguard should be an enhancement core

1 ReplyEdited by Grays_KS27: 6/22/2019 11:46:03 AMThe Stranger is not a Guardian. She says it flat-out in-game. The lore very clearly explains that she is an Exo that was created separately from other Exos (normal Exos would normally be considered to be “Rasputin’s Exos”) and she travels through time (most likely using tech similar to that of FWC’s Machine and/or Vex tech) to fight the Vex. She is not from the Light or Dark. She is from a place/time/timeline when the Vex were the only known threat and the Light and Dark were unknown. The idea that whoever killed Cayde would become the next Hunter Vanguard is stupid. If anyone ever killed him, they wouldn’t be a Hunter (or they would be a Guardian-killing Hunter not deserving of the position). As Ikora said, saying Uldren should be the next Hunter Vanguard is the same as saying Taniks or Riven or Oryx have the chance to be the next Hunter Vanguard. And the points you made about why Uldren shouldn’t be it are also good. Furthermore, Uldren wasn’t even a Guardian when he killed Cayde. (Taniks for Hunter Vanguard)

3 RepliesYou really need to look into the lore more often.

it requires both her and Zavala's vote
It actually doesn’t.
4) It's a chance to bring back the Mysterious Stranger
She isn’t even a Hunter or even a Guardian. She also has more pressing matters than standing in the Tower all day.

4 RepliesUldren doesn’t actually have to be a hunter
and before a Uldren for hunter vanguard 2020 person come here, no a titan/warlock can’t be hunter vanguard, that isn’t how things work
also if the dare is “whatever hunter kills, me gets it” then Uldren being not a guardian, and later killed by us, nullifies that. Next the best replacement would be shiro-4, but knowing him(also hearing stories) he would not do it unless he got roped in through the dare. Next best I suppose would be Marcus Ren, he likes sparrow racing too much to be locked up like that.
also Shin isn’t gonna do it, no chance
3 RepliesThere’s some kind of mental restrictive thing going on at Bungie that prevents them from introducing Shiro-4 to the game
-
1 ReplyShiro-4 should be the next hunter vanguard
-
2 RepliesTechnically Uldren is the Hunter Vanguard BECAUSE he killed Cayde.

3 Replies<Oof you thought CoO's story was bad, just WAIT till you see Warmind. I digress, Uldren would be the most likely candidate to be Hunter Vanguard assuming Marcus Ren doesn't sign off on it or Shiro-4 comes in with that surprise takeover. That being said, the Vanguard's falling apart, it's possible Zavala and Ikora won't be in the same roles they once took in a year or so. Besides, the Darkness is coming so even if we did elect a new Hunter Vanguard, and assuming the Deep does its job and turns the City into a crater, then boom... no more Vanguard the way we knew 'em. I'd assume Ikora and Zavala would take leadership roles, but not as Vanguards of certain classes, but as leaders of all Guardians left after another thousand of us die because those triangles will hit us that hard. Speaking of the Darkness, that's what the Stranger's dealing with right now. She's trying to find a way for our future to not get royally -blam!-ed but guess what? -blam!-in' Ghaul over here happened and from the moment he died and the Traveler woke up Earth lit up like a -blam!-ing beacon. She's too busy to deal with our City politics, not that it matters in her timeline anyway.>

1 ReplyHave you heard of the Vanguard Dare at all?

14 RepliesExcept I’m pretty sure the stranger isn’t a guardian.

1 ReplyWhere did people get this idea that the vanguard would make a newly-resurrected guardian one of their leaders in the first place?

18 RepliesShe is not a guardian.

10 RepliesEdited by Necrogen: 6/22/2019 5:18:42 AMVanguard dare states whoever kills the hunter vanguard (cayde) becomes the new hunter vanguard. Technically by right it would be us since we killed uldren buuuutttt... He's alive again as a guardian so will they absolve him of this duty in the story or will they confine him now to this fate? If they do, they open up more political battleground for the awoken. Mara sov will have more influence and will make power moves. It'll get interesting. You need to not get so hot and bothered by this and see where it goes. Ikora and zav have no say who gets to be caydes replacement. And no, your mysterious stranger option will not happen. Her story is done for now.

1 ReplyThe stranger is a guardian? Source?

It for me to pieces when they killed Cayde off...native heard that the replacement could either be Shiro-4 because he was one of Caydes hunters and knew him quite well...or even Eris Mourn....but it think Eris is outta the question.... I hope that stranger lady comes back because she has an interesting past that I wanna find out a bout!😂
