Can we please stop praising Bungie for reskinning stuff instead of making new content????

1 ReplyIt's impossible to get a big dlc every year without using old assets for the 3 monthly season updates. Otherwise you would have to wait for a yearly drop of new stuff. It's all about using the time that they have.

I feel like they are only redoing the mod system so they can make people regrind for all their current gear but with the new mod slots. Which I think ties into the transmog system being sold in eververse. Look like a hobo again while you grind for all your gear again or buy the look you want...

Edited by reenry: 6/23/2019 4:51:00 AMMhm. Make some new weapons and armor. I dont care how it looks. Just make it. Also you can’t change the stats of anything, you have to use whats in the game already. You can’t make a stat too dominant in a weapon type or its not that type of weapon.

And that's why it has become a niche game, and the Dev know it. They have a finite number of ppl who will play whatever they produce and still love it cause its Bungie the Brand and not necessarily the Content they care about. Saw the same thing with Capcom over decades of streetfighter, some years the changes made to those titles straight trash. like comparing 5 to 4, a purist like myself prefer 4 a novice may be more inclined to like 5. Admitted Capcom fan.

oh no my guns and armor aren’t completely new and look like the guns and armor I enjoyed using in D1. How am I suppose to enjoy the gameplay when I have to look at this reskin?

3 RepliesNoone will ever be 100% happy. If they do everything "new", people complain they like the old stuff...if they bring in some old stuff, people complain it's not new. None of you know what you want.

4 RepliesThere’s nothing wrong with reusing things especially when they can be used to expand upon the story, hell I remember when these forums were flooded with “I wanna go back to the moon/Venus/mars/dreadnaught” or “I want X weapon to come back” <—— that one is still common. I for one am excited we’re heading back to the moon, after we defeated crota we didn’t have a reason to go back, and because of that savathuun has been up to some stuff, that’s exciting, that’s new. It’s not like they’re saying “hey, so you have the moon again, not a lots changed but have fun” On a developers side, it’s easier and less expensive to reuse assets, bungie is still a company at the end of the day so if they can save money, and still deliver content, that’s not a bad thing. While yes it can be infuriating going to the same places over and over, when done right it’s fine. That’s just my opinion.

I could’ve sworn I’ve seen a ton of new content in D2. They’ve brought back our favorites which most of us asked for and have given us a ton of new stuff 🤷♂️

7 RepliesSorry I forgot about the massive tower and fortress on the moon in d1. Slipped my mind I guess. Calling shadowkeep a reskin because it’s also on the moon is like calling the EDZ a reskin of the cosmodrome because they’re both on earth.
