Menagerie has received high praise, and a lot of that has been due to matchmaking without having to get on the mic and not having to wait on an ideal 6 man team from lfg. Why in the world would you go away from that for the heroic version? Just to appease the miniscule, hardcore player base, so they can feel special about themselves? You should have just changed the encounters slighty, increased the difficulty where a wipe took you back to a checkpoint instead of orbit, and kept matchmaking. I'm probably not even going to attempt the heroic version because I know it won't be fun having to deal with the same mess the raids bring to the table. Bad move, Bungie. You need to move away from forcing people onto lfg to complete activities.

Until Bungo invest in an in-game social and LFG system, they can’t convince me that they don’t care about increasing the segment of the community tackling endgame activities like raids and now the Heroic Menagerie. Matter of fact, I would argue that they’re catering such content towards content creators for the sake of a publicity bump around their new releases. In the end, I’m pretty less than 10% of the community will ever go into, let alone beat Heroic Menagerie, and with D2 becoming F2P, they better do something about that abysmal (IMO) number.

122 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 6/21/2019 9:25:20 PMOmg, the one event that's fun that works with matchmaking and you have the option to team up with a group and Bungie screws it up. WTH is wrong with this company? They just can't stop themselves from screwing something up in the game that It's like it's in their nature to ruin anything that's fun. Edit: There is nothing wrong with having Optional matchmaking or matchmaking in general and anyone arguing this the same can be said to you. If you don't like Optional matchmaking do what you normally do and use the LFG or your clan. Let others have the option to choose how they want to play. It literally does not hurt anyone at all and that is a fact. Edit: Bungie can add optional matchmaking and let gamers play how they want to. Optional matchmaking gives gamers the chance to learn the event and whether they fail or not doesn't matter one bit, it's the fact it gives gamers a chance to learn which this game is lacking now with raids that use to have a normal mode in D1 giving that option to learn the raids that have been removed in D2. So if they go use the LFG later, or with friends at least they will have an idea of what's going on. There shouldn't be limits on every single event in this game because Bungie likes to control how gamers play their game.

9 RepliesSo, people who want to do it seriously, get queue'd with 740 blueberries who keep dying and provide nothing to the team. I doubt Heroic would even be that big of a deal, I don't think it will have many worth it exclusive rewards, so I don't think it will become a daily loop activity. You can just do it 2 times a week with LFG and be done with it, I wouldn't be surprised if it had any more significance than what I mentioned. Please, stop asking for this stuff without thinking about it, nightfall matchmaking is good, things that can boot you to orbit or set you back a bunch shouldn't have matchmaking, the game is easy enough, let's not try to dumb it down to suit matchmaking.

1 ReplyI don't even think the hardcores are going to like it. I think its going to be one Y1D1 Skolas-and-Arc-burn sized train wreck.

You know they gotta give datto something to keep his channel alive

5 RepliesWith extinguish as a modifier? No. Just no. Matchmaking with that will only lead to a lot of reeeeeee.

1 ReplyTo me, matchmaking impacts the future of the game mode. Today, when we're under leveled, coordination helps for success clears. In the future, when we're all 800+ light and over powered, why go through the time finding a team through LFG? Instead we'll all just move onto the next thing. If matchmaking was available, I'd happy jump in and run through it for the loot.

17 RepliesAll these neck beards talking about not wanting it... so dumb. If you have a fire team to play with why do you give AF? Those of us who don’t would like match making even if the chances we fail are higher.

Agreed

When this game dies and Bungie goes bankrupt the trash elitist will have no one to blame but themselves.

3 RepliesI agree with you. I just came back to destiny and now I'm done again. I don't ever have enough people on to complete raids, hell I have enough trouble pulling 2 friends to just run weekly stuff just because I hate doing it alone. So now there is yet another thing I will not be able to do. So now I'm canceling my preorder of shadowkeep and moving on to something else.

it’s a good thing that they did remove matchmaking since you‘ll never know if someone is still 700 or so (unless you look up their profile).
especially if the punishment gets stricter. It’s not like there was a punishment from begin with😒
86 RepliesMatchmaking should be optional for all endgame activities. If anyone thinks it can't work or teams couldn't beat content, they don't have to use it. It's inexcusable that in 2019 a game so focused on being a"social" game doesn't have a full mm suite.

1 ReplyCan't believe people still complain about stuff like this. Idk about the rest of you, but I'd rather run an activity that goes up to 770 light with people I trust, as opposed to peasants who can't even finish a lap in the gauntlet.
-
3 RepliesYou realise heroic menagerie has extinguish and that 99.5% of the destiny community is complete garbage. There would be like a .04% success rate
-
2 RepliesEdited by Galaxy: 6/23/2019 2:32:18 AMIts an even split, people who refuse to/can't get in a fireteam have normal, and the hardcore players who run with an experienced team get the heroic. If you don't like it, get a fireteam 😬

3 RepliesIt's 770. It would be a shitshow with randoms.

3 RepliesConsidering that you can actually fail and that you’re booted to orbit for wiping I’d say that it was the right decision
-
2 RepliesBungo just has to stop with their convoluted game-activities and then adding matchmaking to anything including raids won't be an issue.
-
The Bungle fun police are ever vigilant. Fun needs to be nerfed, if not eliminated entirely.
-
Lack of matchmaking as a solo or fire team for all activities is the biggest flaw of this game. Forsaken sales reflect this. Who wants to pay for content that’s not easily accessible? Answer: Idiots who pay other people to play the game for them, that’s who!
-
With blackout added to the heroic I'm not even going to touch it. Its bad enough in the normal mode
-
If there was the game would be hard and the team could(not) get 100% without the entire team dead
-
I have a strong feeling the heroic version will become useless after the first two weeks after everyone gets their swords and other heroic exclusive things. And no, matchmaking for a 770 POWER LEVEL ACTIVITY is a terrible idea.
