The Crown of Sorrow raid challenge bounties shouldn't be tied to clan rank. I happen to be in a 3 person clan with my friends. We use LFG for raids and get by pretty well. I have done COS 4 times now and I do like the raid so I thought I might go for the title this time.
Well I guess I'm not getting it now.
We need to get to clan rank 4 to unlock the privilege of getting the bounties. We play pretty often and our best is just getting clan rank 3. The problem is you only get triumph recognition if you complete the corresponding bounty which essentially makes this now very grindy and time consuming compared to clans who have at least over 10 people.
If you wanna have optional bounties for gear thats fine but don't tie the bounty completion to the triumph. Its unfair becasue we can do the raid just fine and we choose to have a small clan.
Many people are just gonna say leave you clan and join a bigger one. I think you are kind of missing the point im not trying to take anything from anyone else but just give the option to complete the title for everyone. Plus we have had this clan since D1 and i dont wanna get rid of it just for 3 triumphs.
Bungie can you please just change this. Oh and fix flawless, the work around is stupidly hard and not worth doing atm.
Edit: Its really nice that many people are offering clan invites. Im not trying to be rude but the post does state that I don't really want to leave because it would delete our clan in the process. Thanks anyway its really cool to see people offering help.
Edit: I have 3 solutions for Bungie and the community to deem which would be the best. Look here before posting if your comment is gonna cover one of these 3 things. But thanks anyway :)
Solution 1: They can remove the character weekly clan XP cap
Solution 2: Just remove the clan rank 4 requirement for the raid challenge bounties
Solution 3: Give Benedict and Werner the raid challenge bounties without the powerful gear as reward.
Edit: If Bungie need the bounty completion check to get the triumph check just give all future season associated vendors their associated raid challenges. For example, Ada-1 would have the SOTP raid challenge bounties and Benedict would have the COS raid challenge bounties. These don't need to have powerful gear like the clan ones but would just be to provide the necessary check for the triumph.
Edit: Finally someone big the in the community said that this is an issue. Datto mentioned this exact problem in his COS raid challenges guide.

I know Im late but I think all of ur above ideas on how to fix the raid challenges are great. Ive joined so many clans just to find them not on much especially towards the end or last couple months of the season. I hope they hear ur ideas. Gg's Guardian

14 RepliesEdited by Blackheart1914: 6/25/2019 8:39:55 PMHitting Rank 4 as a clan should not be any problem if you play the game. Every week, you need 100,000 points (max). That sounds like a huge number, but if you have 7 people running 3 characters (15,000 times 7 equals 105,000 points) or 20 people running 1 character. Getting 5,000 points is as easy as running 10 crucible matches per character. It really sounds like your clan or the people in your clan are not playing very often. Are you stating that you clan isn't passing rank 3 in a full season. Bungie had stated since the beginning of Destiny 2 that they are making a commitment to community and clans with these things. Not sure my you are complaining when the tasks and requirement are so small.

I dont understand why a challenge has to be claimed with a bounty in the first place. If you beat it the way they want you to beat it it should be unlocked. Doing it with a bounty locked behind it is utterly ridiculous. None of the challenges in year 1 required bounties.
-
Oh yikes I thought the extra bounty was on the top row, not a raid one. It sounds like a pretty bungle thing to do though. Their PvP eSports campaign failed with 4v4/trials (solely because bungle refuses to use dedicated servers), so now they're trying to push the mmorpg, 15 years after that genre peaked with WoW. It too will fail for the same reason.

Hawthorne should keep the bounties, but there shouldn't be any clan requirements... the challenge should be unlocked after completing the respective encounter! Clan levels are unnecessary; I'm never wowed by any of the perks, and they only last a season... Remove all weekly caps or make the perks better, e.g. level 4 perk could be 'chance to gain an additional powerful engram from any raid encounter', and a new level (7) could be a guaranteed seasonal exotic drop! Old banners equippable for out of season perks!

7 RepliesEvery new season's raid has a bounty tied to clan only until the next season hits and or clan unlocks it. Either way it isn't bad it requires a clan to level up quick to finish for a title.

1 ReplyWhy can’t challenges be like they were in destiny 1? No bounties or clan requirement and just do them and get another chest or extra drop.
-
3 RepliesThe thing that annoys me is that there’s literally no reason for it to be this way. -It’s inconsistent. In Year 1 we had challenges tied directly to the Leviathan. They’d rotate each week as a modifier. Then we didn’t have any for EoW or SoS, and instead had the curated loadouts. Now we’ve got Hawthorne Bounties. -Hawthorne has nothing to do with the raids. If the bounties are gonna be with anyone, why Hawthorne? Has she even had any sort of interaction to do with any raid in the game? Because as far as I know, she definitely hasn’t. Stick them with Zavala since raids are under the Vanguard triumphs, or with their respective DLC vendors (Petra, Ada, Werner, etc.) -Why only clan-lock them for a season? I don’t see any reason to clan-lock them at all, but why only do it temporarily? If the reason to clan-lock them is to incentivise people into making or joining clans, it’s likely not working. Personally, it’s only incentivised me to forget about the challenges for a season.

6 RepliesGotta work for it. Build your clan up and hit max rank. If you have just ten people contributing 15000 xp per week, you'll be there in no time.
-
Clans have been saying this for ages. Smaller clans don’t get the same percentage gains as larger clans based on active members. It’s rank four even if you have 200 members.
-
It does seem like a fairly stupid and unfair requirement. If it’s going to stay the way it is then it shouldn’t be tied to the title.
-
2 RepliesIm upset that SotP has a triump that requires you to have beat it first week of release so for everyone else who didnt, you may never complete that achievement
-
6 RepliesInvite 3 or 4 more guys to your clan bud. A group of 6 active guys can hit max in a season. Failing that, i guess i could see about letting you come grab the bounty from our clan, then leave back to your own, once we hit level 4
-
Figures. Even when you play with friends you’re still not playing with friends the way Bungie wants you to.
-
Yeah it does seem kind if stupid you have to even be in a clan to begin with. I mean clan rewards I get, but unless something specifies you have to do it with a clan or you gain something from clan mates doing it, there’s no reason it needs to be locked to the clan
-
5 RepliesLol i’m in a random ass clan with people i don’t even talk to just join another clan.. you can literally join almost anyone don’t cry about it, when there is a solution
-
2 RepliesI'd just be glad If they got rid of or increased the personal xp cap. I'm in a clan of 2 (active at least) so we barely ever even hit rank 2.
-
1 ReplyHey, we have a clan from D1 that’s old and family owned, but we opened it to the public. We’re a active clan currently removing and re adding new active players. We are a max player clan with usually a max level. If you and your buddies would love to join just say so and I’ll send invites to all of you. With you and your buddies doing raids that’ll help all us out with the raid engram. I’m a huge raid, and PvP player. So hit me up also if you’d love to do CoS, I have 2 clears and looking to do more and eventually go for Flawless and all triumphs! I’m a Hunter at just below 750...
-
1 ReplyJoin my clan we need active players pvp and raiders we make it max very easily
-
1 ReplyThey do this to make you play the game longer all game developers do it nobody likes it but its how they keep you invested.
-
1 ReplyEdited by fangfireskull: 6/16/2019 4:46:49 AMdo you need to do the bounty to get the triumph? or can you just do the challenge without the bounty and just get the triumph and not a powerful reward?
-
We had the same problem so we started poaching people when we did a raid with them, we're big enough now that we reach the weekly cap of clan xp
-
i hate it when Bungie ties progression or Drop Percentage to Clans it took me so long to get the only Catalyst i wanted just cause i was playing PvP solo, while other people got it on day 1
-
1 ReplyIs there a reason you haven't invited more people and kept it at only 3? Just saying, there are TONS of cool people out there that would want to help build up a clan...
-
1 ReplyAgreed it’s dumb. One of the few arbitrary requirements to get loot. I’d like to see that go and the matching a teammates element in heroic strikes go. Neither serve a purpose. Maybe make the clan perks worth grinding for instead of putting bounties behind the ranks
