I think Bungie, deep down misses making Halo.
I also think at times, they wish they stayed making Halo.

I'm guessing maybe 1 in 10 people at Bungie right now had anything to do with Halo. The people that still wanted to make it moved to 343.

They were looking forward to completing their contract under Microsoft and it shows in the ViDocs they made, particularly the post-reach ones. Plus the staff has changed drastically since the Halo era, partly due to their aggressive hiring post-reach and partly due to the Activision contract almost completely reworking the whole company. I don’t think Bungie misses making Halo, but I certainly miss the communal vibe they gave off up until 2013. I think of it like Rare going from Nintendo to Microsoft. If Bungie made a Halo game today it’d be the modern day equivalent of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts and req packs would probably contain single-use emotes and the like.

I don't think they do. They already showed a lack of interest in Halo when making Reach and it blatantly showed when playing the game.
