why do people put Xx in their gamertags?
for example: sephirot in HD,MLG, pro, etc.

For the same reasons they put any variation of scopes or snipers, alternate caps, numbers for letters, iTz, OMG, i____, _____ is back, iz PRO, blah blah blah. They are unoriginal tryhards.

Say I want Epic as a GT, but its been taken... a very long time ago, I can use Xx Epic xX inorder to have the Gamertag I want that is already used.

1 - The Name they wanted wsa taken, but If they put xX or something in front of it, that name is not taken for their gamer tag. So if someone wanted their xbox live name to be Gofrel, that would be taken, but I suspect xX Gofrel Xx is not taken 2 - They do things like that to look cool, but all they do is look like kids. Also, usually only Kids do it.
