I know TAA is blurry but it gets rid of more jaggies than SMAA, so Bungie should at the very least give the option to change to TAA in the game. And to mitigate the blurriness, add an optional sharpness filter.

The AA is terrible and it throws me out of the flow very often :( BUMP

Yes. TAA is an industry standard now. On PC it can be combined with DLSS for ever better results. Destiny is a beautiful game, defaced by disgusting aliasing everywhere. Even in 4K the aliasing is really bad, and you cannot push the resolution much further on single GPUs. We really need it in this game.

I really hope Bungie fixes this too. It's insane how much flickering and jagged edges it is. Thats the only thing that i don't like in this game, tho. Look at remnant, it's insane, not a single flickering / jagged edge, high performance on highest settings.. but with destiny 2, it's fps drops, sluggish when in public events/strikes etc. And every single line is flickering ;S 5.3GHz i7 8700k, watercooled 1080 gtx.

1 ReplyEdited by Hydra: 12/20/2019 4:07:20 AM*Quick Update* AMD's drivers as of now have contrast adaptive sharpening (CAS) support for DX11, and Destiny 2 is a game that runs off of DX11. This has been a post-processing filter for a long time through the use of shader injection software, notably ReShade. However, it is now a filter that works on a driver-level. In short, this is basically DLSS except it works, so running this game in 4K fullscreen resolution with CAS on while putting the render resolution slider down to 66% (This is 1440p if you are running the fullscreen resolution at Ultra HD) works pretty well in cleaning up jaggies while preserving detail and performance. If you do not have a 4K monitor, use AMD VSR or Nvidia DSR to make 4K Fullscreen Resolution an option, so CAS can be used to its full potential. It is designed to restore detail lost from playing at a lower than native resolution. How to enable For Nvidia users: you guys also have a similar option in Nvidia Freestyle, but I'm not sure if it works on Destiny 2. To find if it does work, open the Freestyle overlay by using Alt+F3 and test if the sharpening slider does anything to Destiny 2's visuals. For AMD users: If you cannot find CAS in AMD Radeon Settings, it is marketed as "Radeon Image Sharpening" and can be located via in-game settings. If you cannot locate the sharpening filters after trying these steps, make sure your GPU drivers are up to date. AMD's latest drivers: https://www.amd.com/en/support Nvidia's latest drivers: https://www.geforce.com/drivers Bungie, please implement TAA now that both GPU manufacturers implemented a post-processing filter that subsides the blurriness of TAA and non-native resolutions.

This needs far more attention. All the glorious work the devs put into all these models and textures is lessened by a botched Anti-Aliasing implementation. Those jagged edges are so prevalent you can see them in content trailers and even the banner for the Reddit page.

1 ReplyEdited by Ari: 6/13/2019 6:08:26 AMYeah i wonder why this isn't a thing.. but until that happens there is a workaround, albeit an expensive one at that.. just crank up the resolution scale, it's like the old SSAA, it supersamples the image at a better resolution to fit more pixels in the same screen.
