High impact Frame pulse rifles should get buffed

340 RPM pulse rifles need to get buffed. 390-450 RPM pulse rifles seem to do a lot more damage and feel way more versatile in the crucible. Even aggressive frames (4-burst) have proven to be very strong. I’ve always been a fan of the slow firing pulse rifles because every shot counts when you fire the gun. When you landed the shots they felt so crisp when you melted the enemy. I can understand that maybe in D1 they might have been too OP but now they just aren’t as efficient compared to hand cannons which still dominate the field. If you guys buff them, I understand that reddrix broadsword would get a huge buff because of desperado. And may prove to become OP. But besides that, I think it would be cool to see some more diversity in PvP play-styles. That way our “killing machine” guardians can take each other down their own unique way, instead of using the most meta way. Here’s a reddit article showing how much damage 340-450RPM pulse rifles do. https://www.reddit.com/r/CruciblePlaybook/comments/ay5zw2/low_rate_of_fire_pulse_rifles_in_depth_highimpact/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app I’m stoked for Shadowkeep btw. You guys rock!! Update: Fun Facts from earlier posts on this thread that I wanted to highlight. Fun Fact: there are no energy-type pulse rifles except for graviton lance that are under 390. Graviton lance is 257RPM Which means that there are ZERO energy pulse rifles that are at 340. Crazy! Go ahead and check DB.destinytracker.com if you don’t believe me. Fun fact: of the 9 legendary pulse rifles that are 340RPM Only 2 can be acquired with random rolls (basically year two benefit weapons) The two are 1) Reddrix Broadsword:
meh...
And 2) Einstein-D
Wait, that’s it?!?!?
These nine 340 RPM weapons could get buffed or at least equipped with random roll perks so they can be better in the crucible.

There are just some archetypes that simply shouldn't exist. 110 Hand Cannons, 340 Pulse, and anything below a 740 fusion rifle, to name a few.

        • Yeah, pulse rifles need a range nerf. The fact a pulse can beat a scout at range is no bueno.

          • Not until scouts get a buff. They've buffed it like, what, twice since Forsaken and I have noticed nothing different about them. Scouts are only viable in low to mid difficulty content, but even they struggle quite a bit in mid difficulty content. Red bar enemies tend to die with 2 hits to the head whereas in D1, it was 1 most of the time. They almost have no place in most of the content in the game, and even with good rolls, they still underperform.

            • I remember when red death used to 2 burst, the gun had unflinching and getting health back on kills was amazing. I miss being able to 2 burst players, guns actually felt like guns in destiny 1

              • My take is up the damage just enough so 1 body shot and 5 headshots kill any resilience guardian. It’s still gonna be punishing bc that 3rd burst almost ensures death. But with guardians being as mobile as they are, it makes little sense to run a 340 over a last perdition or bygones with rampage

              • I like the ideas in this post, increasing stability on 340rpm pulses, damage, and maybe add some flinch to them. If not stability increase the range. I also main the Redrix Broadsword it's a powerful weapon but could use some umpf to it, possibly with those increased it'd feel truely pinnical, I also may be a little biased when it comes to pulses in general lol. I also seen scouts they should have a good bump in damage across the board in both PvP and PvE.

Only buff I can think of is if they massively increased the amount of flinch that archetype causes.(same should be done for 110 rpm hand canons) Having them easily 2 burst by upping bodyshot damage or something would make them too strong
this is following the model of the explosive round trust that has been so popular prior to luna's howl. It's got a terrible time to kill, worst in the game. But the added flinch offsets that handicap to make it a decent competitor
• I say buff the Stability. If it's possible to two burst someone already then the shot placement should be tighter.

                  • Yeah they're in an okish spot rn but you have to land every headshot which is bad. And dont attack me for saying this but maybe 140's could yous the tiniest damage boost so that they can 1 head 2 body or 2 head one body. Except ace i dont wanna see 2 taps

                    • I feel like buffing them to do 35 to the head would be enough to make them more viable.

                      • I think the 340s are fine, personally. Reliable two-bursts constantly? Why buff that? I feel as if having all six shots hit the head for an optimal TTK is a wonderful, high-skill thing to have present. Yeah, Hand Cannons are easier to use. Yeah, other Pulses feel more forgiving. But I still feel as if 340s are in the perfect spot; They feel as if they belong there. They feel balanced.
