06/08/2019 - I just paid for the Complete Collection on the Blizzard store. Completed the payment and immediately go to log into the game and my account was banned. I didn't even play a single second of $40+ dollars I just spent. Oh and lo and behold there is conveniently nothing I can do to have my account looked at by Bungie and Blizzard conveniently has a no refund policy for banned accounts. They literally just stole $40+ dollars from me. Needless to say I am putting a dispute in with PayPal and trying that route. If that doesn't work I'll find another way. This is absolutely ridiculous. I can promise you I will never support anything from these people ever again and I will post this anywhere I can to warn others of this!
Update/Continuation :
After a year long hiatus I re-downloaded the game with the announcement of Shadowkeep, thinking I could get back into the game. So, after downloading I played the game checking out my old characters and re-familiarizing myself with the game. Then I decided to buy the Forsaken DLC since I stopped playing prior to it's release. I pay for the DLC (well the complete collection seeing as I can't just buy Forsaken), go to log in for the first time and I was banned. Didn't play a second of the DLC I just paid for. I had zero issues prior to paying for Forsaken. I'm pissed but my only possible conclusion is buying the DLC maybe altered the game and that is what flagged it. I honestly don't know as I know nothing of how the monitoring works for the banning process.

3 RepliesA lot of PC players get banned. IDK why. They always say they weren't running any suspected warez. IDK if I believe it though. Most likely it's due to a suspect program running in the background.

1 ReplyTypically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running. These include but not limited to, trainers, aimbots, auto-fire, mods, graphics hacks, anything that injects code into games, debuggers for programing, even some viruses. any of these could cause a ban, even if not destiny 2 specific. If you charge back on blizzard I hope that you do not have any other games on that account as they have a habit of banning the full account when charged back. Bungie does not discuss restrictions or bans. Restrictions are temporary, and will not be overturned or undone before they expire. Once an account is banned however, that ban is permanent. Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason. There are NO options to dispute or overturn account restrictions or bans. Bans are lifetime for that account https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47715 *I am not a Bungie representative, just a player trying to give the answers that are available.

If it is your 1st RESTRICTION it's USUALLY 2 weeks. If it is your 2nd RESTRICTION it's USUALLY 2 months. RESTRICTIONS can stack on each other, usually due to the severity and frequency of multiple reports overtime. So 2 weeks AND 2 months, so to most players there won't be a 2nd splash screen and the RESTRICTION ends later than expected. RESTRICTIONS USUALLY end during the reset of that week and not the day of. In-Game Gambit/Competitive Crucible SUSPENSIONS are only 30-60mins and placed automatically if you leave too many games in a short time span for ANY reason. Whether it be a ddos, error code or power outage. They WILL NOT respond or message you. They WILL NOT tell why a punishment was issued. They don't have to. They don't care. There is no course of action to appeal any punishment issued. They WILL NOT lessen or remove any punishment issued for any reason. They've had this no tolerance policy since Day 1 of D1. It won't change anytime soon. The reasons most ppl have a punishment issued to them is: For some form of cheating (ddossing). Playing with cheaters (paying for a carry, sharing account info, or staying in a lobby with a cheater for too long and benefiting from their illegal actions). Or having consistently terrible internet connection that it affects OTHERS players and not just yourself. You may be playing fine. But to others you may appear as an unkillable red-bar. For most PC tagalongs: They are banned because SOMETHING installed on your PC was viewed as a POTENTIAL threat to D2 and those are promptly banned. The process for BANS and RESTRICTIONS involve reports coming in from players or their flag system towards an individual. The Bungie monkey at HQ reviews it. And they decide if it was warranted or not.
