Oh, I'd love a conversation actually. I'd love to discuss why making a basic game mechanic grindy is what this game needs over the bullshit dev speak that they wanted Infusion to be "meaningful and impactful". I'd love for them to explain why Infusion needs four separate currencies to accomplish outside of "it pads game hours". A conversation would be welcome!! Reality is that Bungie's not interested in that. They kowtowed to a couple streamers at the community summit and now won't walk that mistake back. So the issue persists.

Infusion cores exist for the same reason glimmer exists in infusion. To make it less accessible. There's no argument for infusion to have any cost at all other than pad out play time. As for the "grind" bungie introduced the gunsmith bounties. A "compromise" of sorts. Frankly I'd prefer they make cores easier to get than just removing them from infusion.. This would lighten the burden of infusion costs, allow players to focus more on an easier path to masterworking, and satiate bungies need for cores in infusion. It'd be a win win.

Making Cores freely farmable like the other mats does solve the pain point for Infusion.

Generally that's the room temperature. However, people have suggested some compromises that would keep cores in but make them less stifling and/or make acquisition more organic to gameflow.

Those posts usually get shit on for being bungie shills. I've made comments and posts like that and gotten shit on. There's no conversation this forum wants to have
