Has this been talked about yet?
So is riven still messing with us. Is calus messing with us. Whenever I hear that sentence, it makes me want to shoot him down before some unwanted wishes come true. Anyone else worried?

3 RepliesI was very concerned about this flavour text. Because of the manipulative nature of these lore tabs I wondered if an Ahamkara was trying to grant Claus’ wish of making us a shadow, by rewriting history to prevent us from staying in the city. Making himself the only place we could go. Another weird thing I noticed is that in the helmet (I think), it talks about Amanda Holliday and mentions how she killed the Ace-Defiant. She didn’t but that’s beside the point. Anyway calus tells us to bring her to him but instead we kill her. If the above theory is correct then I wonder if we killed her because we serve calus unwillingly and we do not want her to become trapped by calus so the only escape is her death. If true, that’s a new very dark direction for Bungie.

14 RepliesNo. Not worried. Again, have you read the lore at all? You’d know why he says that
-
Noticed it earlier when running through menagerie and got me thinking is calus still calus as in the lore tabs for the chronicon it’s mentioned how after staring into the void he was different and changed. Then again maybe the pompous rhino kings just playing with us
-
Calus says he’s been watching you... he saw you slay Uldren Sov and Riven (If you did Last Wish.) so it’s a way for him to kinda play with you and your legacy.

In case you are still interested, if you purchased the original collectors edition of Destiny 2 that came with the book explaining who calus is and who is traitors were, he refers to us as 'oh champion mine' in the last page, so him calling us that in opulence isn't a new thing.

6 RepliesYeah, but I guess it comes with everything related to the Darkness, I think. On a side note, can we talk about this line? “Have you considered staying on the Leviathan? If you do, you can’t go back to the Dreaming City.” Gee, I sure do wonder if that will have anything at all to do with the story in the future.
-
1 ReplyI has that feeling too. I have a feeling that something could connect Calus and Riven, for she has been the only one to refer us as o *fill in the blank* mine
-
1 Reply<Calus has used an Ahamkara Bone before, presumably going for it again before his daughter crushed it during the Midnight Coup. It makes sense why he uses it, as the Ahamkara use it all the bloody time. He is not an Ahamkara, Riven is restricted to the Dreaming City and Calus is not messing with us, he's just optimistic.>
-
2 Replies“Oh ____ mine“ is not exclusive to the Ahamkara species. It’s a speech pattern that allows the user to influence the recipient. It’s probably linked to using the Darkness.
-
Glad to know I'm not the only one who applied this logic. I was really surprised when he called me "oh champion mine" because I thought only ahamkara's talked like that
-
Clear as day... he can not even keep his own ship clean....

Clear as day.....

1 ReplyYeah this was a big red flag.

"O _____ Mine" is originally said by powerfull creatures like the Ahamkara/WormGods/Leviathan(beast from Book of Sorrow) . Most of the characters who use it right now (like the hive gods like savathun and calus) have taken on the trait from these powerfull creatures. We know that Calus looked into, what we think is, the darkness. He learned something important that day. So possibly, he started using that phrase, because it has a larger meaning behind it that we don't know yet.

2 RepliesNot especially....then again the Cabal seem to be dabbling in occult stuff.

He uses it as a way to show dominance over us.
