Rng is the only reason I don't have multiple titles. How lucky you are has nothing to do with skill. I've put as many hours into this game as most people and still need random rng drops even though I farm them every chance I get. It's a bit ridiculous.

12 RepliesRandomness isn’t the problem. Randomness—-used properly—-is an essential aspect of replayability for loot games like this. The problem is Bungie doesn’t obey the “rules” that other games of this type follow: Progression and Accomplishments are based on player time investment and skill. Loot awards are random. But Bungie has resorted to distributing almost everything in this game according to randomness as a means of squeezing out every bit of replayability from what little content they create. As you’re finding out, being denied an achievement because of a loot drop that is designed to drop at a super low rate, and may be time-gated, or locked behind a competitive wall (Gambit ship and sparrow) feels cheap and disrespectful to your time and efforts. Which is why more experienced developers don’t do such things. RNG isn’t a problem. HOW Bungie has opted to use it—-as a means of simply consuming playing time without reward or benefit to the player or play experience—-is the problem.
