Clean up crucible of these pathetic little children. How do you expect people to complete quests where they can’t play a clean game because of the stupid little hackers you’re too afraid to give lifetime bans to.
Grow a pair bungie.

This entire thread is some of the most toxic trash I've ever read. So worried about K/D and W/L you're willing to crush every player that tries D2 and milk it to its bones just to say "I'm the best." It's almost depressing that this entire game world is built around helping people, helping guardians, helping the light. But in truth, we arent even able to help each other, were too focused on bashing everyone else. My fireteam is open for anyone that needs a hand, just dont bring that darkness with you.

30 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 5/30/2019 3:17:53 AMThis is interesting and I can care less if I get downvoted for telling the truth because it's still not going to change the fact that cheating has grown over the years with gaming. That's not including paid carries, etc... Whether the OP has a great KD or not doesn't matter, but look at all the ridiculous replies of gamers on this forum thinking they're being "clever" that avoided the (fact) that cheating is getting worse as time goes on. What makes this worse is knowing this company alone allowed someone to cheat for a good couple of years before anything was done about it.

12 RepliesDefinitely seen legit aimbots in Gambit on PS4. Not talking out my ass. Saw them a lot in Unreal. Did server work, tested them for anti cheat software (anti tcc). Definitely a thing. I've seen only one in crucible. Several in Gambit. The aimbotters in this game hide their aimbot very well. Typical M.O.: Don't invade don't be obvious don't let it the super apparent that you have perfect auto aim to the opposing team. You'll spot it easiest if you invade yourself. There's been many many times I've invaded to be shot instantaneously in the head by 3 scout rifle shots. I'm talking this happens so fast that the game can't even spawn the mote counters over the opponent's heads before I'm dead. there are aimbots out there and there are cheats quit lying to yourself you just might not have seen it.

1 ReplyCheating has been incentivized. First as an unintended (I assume) side effect of trials adept weapons, and Bungie hyping guys like TripleWreck. Then streamers came along, and slowly the community turned more and more toxic as skilled players shunned everyone else, and a lot of people thought being an ass was the way to go. The disparity between skilled and unskilled was codified because it’s easily monetized in an environment like this one. To the point where people will pay to get things because it’s nearly impossible to find friends who will teach and/or help. Anything that one can make money at that remains unregulated will always be rife with degenerate behavior. Of course, some people do just to talk smack in here.

13 RepliesEdited by Lime087461: 5/30/2019 12:28:29 AMIt’s not that easy. Every other game has a worse cheating problem then destiny Edit: hold up... you play on console. Cheaters are not a problem there. Sure there’s cheaters but not enough to even effect you.

"A fundamental flaw of any peer-to-peer network model is that it reveals your IP address to every player you meet in PvE or PvP. When we have a look at the connections Destiny 2 established in one of my 4v4 Crucible matches, we can see three Bungie servers located in the USA, one Limelight Server located in the UK, one Blizzard Server located in the UK and the other seven players located in France, Germany and Turkey. Peer-to-peer IPs By revealing the IP address of these players, the game makes it very easy to find out the country and city/town where they live. So, I can then block or throttle the traffic between my client and theirs, or I could launch a DDOS attack to affect their online experience—something streamers have to deal with on a regular basis, and has resulted in persistent problems with the relatively high stakes PvP mode Trials of the Nine. Bungie issued a swathe of two-week bans to DDOSers recently, but the attacks keep coming."
- from The strange science of Destiny 2's 'uniquely complicated' netcode: And why its peer-to-peer design makes for uneven hit registration you wouldn't get with dedicated servers. by Chris "Battle(non)sense", November 10, 2017 article on PCGamer.com https://www.pcgamer.com/the-strange-science-of-destiny-2s-uniquely-complicated-netcode/

Bungie protects these people, top priority at the studio

31 RepliesNot this old chestnut again. The people you think are cheating are just way better than you.
-
4 RepliesThere are little to no cheaters on PlayStation. If they are better than you, that doesn't mean they're cheating. The most popular way to cheat is ddossing, and I doubt that you've been dossed at your skill level/glory rank

"You create the biggest, or at least you try to create the biggest MMO in the world like Destiny 2 and yet you decide to use Peer-to-Peer instead of dedicated servers. Well, it’s not anyone’s fault Bungie would rather count the money instead they land any kind of support. Their choice is to get the maximum profit and to easier manipulate their costs without having any further headaches. Well, that day is about to finish as Destiny 2 players are as one on Reddit, at least when it comes to this issue. Destiny 2 DDoS, the old pal and reason why no single developer should go for Peer-to-Peer networking instead of Dedicated matchmaking servers. Those affected by it are those whos IP Addresses are probably dedicated and their connection is being choked out of the game and possibility to use their internet connection to even browse. This has been reported earlier today on Destiny 2’s official Reddit page, where players actually experienced this problem a while ago. It really feels bad. From what we can see is that the whole community speaks as a whole. Everyone is anticipating the thread and leaves at least one common thought on the DDoS attacks. Bungie remains silent, yet the issue grows bigger. Destiny 2 is one of the MMO games that should have a longer life cycle, and yet devs decide to go with Peer-to-Peer. It appears that the same people keep on doing it, as some other players have encountered them as well. After Activision and Sledgehammer decision to probably go with dedicated servers for CoD: WWII, it may turn out that Bungie will have to prepare their own Dedicated servers otherwise, it may turn out to be a complete disaster. At last, look what happened to For Honor… even if the developers included dedicated servers… it’s a bit too late. As for us, we’ve been speaking about this in lots of other articles, explaining that Dedicated Servers are as core as the game and any future big game company that might read this should think twice before deciding to go with p2p."
- Destiny 2 Peer-to-Peer Connection Leads to Huge DDoS Issues by Angel Kicevski, November 13, 2017 Future Game Releases
"Earlier this month Cisco released a white paper that is part of the company’s larger report, “Visual Networking Index Complete Forecast Update, 2015-2020.” Here are some statistics from that white paper, relevant to distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks: Frequency of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks has increased more than 2.5 times over the last 3 years. The average size of DDoS attacks is increasing steadily and approaching 1 Gbps, enough to take most organizations completely off line. Peak DDoS attack size (Gbps) is increasing in a linear trajectory, with peak attacks reaching 300, 400, and 500 Gbps respectively, in 2013, 2014, and 2015, at about 10 to 15 percent per year. In 2015 the top motivation behind DDoS attacks was criminals demonstrating attack capabilities, with gaming and criminal extortion attempts in second and third place, respectively. DDoS attacks account for more than 5 percent of all monthly gaming-related traffic and more than 30 percent of gaming traffic while they are occurring. Globally the number of DDoS attacks grew 25 percent in 2015 and will increase 2.6-fold to 17 million by 2020." "Online Gaming is a High-profile Target There are certain industries that are more susceptible to DDoS and, in agreement with the Cisco report, the online gaming (multi-player) and gambling industry is a high-profile target. The reason is that the stakes are high; booting users off-line, preventing others from logging-in, and creating latency or complete outages in game play significantly impacts payouts and player stats, so players are likely to abandon a gaming company that has extended downtime. That means a loss of customer confidence and revenues for the gaming company."
- New Report Points to Alarming DDoS Attack Statistics and Projections by Stephanie Weagle, Corero June 27, 2016 https://www.corero.com/blog/736-new-report-points-to-alarming-ddos-attack-statistics-and-projections.html

Edited by ELRaSun: 5/31/2019 12:58:25 AMMost of it is definitely lag. (You ever notice it’s Always worse in Comp and Iron Banner) But, There’s also definitely cheaters. The infinite black screen to get you to quit is most common. I’ve also seen stuff in Gambit where we were way ahead. Then they sent a blocker, and after we killed it our bank did not unlock. We start getting server warnings. Next thing we know, the server error stops, but their motes jumped from below first invasion all the way up to summoning primeval. Weird stuff happens as well, like... this team that had Vigilance Wing’s that shot like SMGs, lol. The audio would mess up and sound like 2 or 3 Vigilance Wings sounds chopped. This was when Vigilance Wing was hands down the best gun in PvP, and the Full Auto Catalyst was not out yet Then theres the invisible res’ers and disarmers in Countdown.

9 RepliesThe only cheating done in this game is ddossing lol, I have played 60+ days of crucible between d1 and d2 and have never matched an aimbotter or someone with god mode or anything. I think with that much time it is fair to say it doesn’t exist. Hacking in 2019 isn’t really a thing.
-
Bungie doesn't care if people cheat. There have been cheaters reported and reported for years with many vids for proof and I think they finally banned one of them because of streamers.
-
4 RepliesNot sure about cheating. But I am sure anyone teamed up with You is being cheated out of a win...... https://destinytracker.com/d2/profile/psn/Rayne10
-
Much as I agree with you OP, I don't see it happening for 2 reasons. 1. Bungo are incapable of doing it. 2. Bungo don't want to lower the awful PvP numbers any further so have no desire to do it anyway.
-
A lot lag switch player I’ll say that I have many video clips I can post of me unloading clips in ppl getting hit markers and no damage and mofo 1hit melees me
-
And we apparently cant show the rest of the public who these cheaters are because that's witch hunting. And witch hunting people that are actively cheating is somehow bad. Great policies that protect the bad guys Bungie.
-
5 RepliesDude you have bronze Elo and a 0.7 kd which means you suck hard .... Maybe you shouldn't judge if people are hacking or not if you aren't good yourself Also: You play with Swords, TwoTailedFox Bows and a Misfit auto rifle .... which means by itself you dont have good weapons
-
1 Replyyour right. bungie cheating the playerbase is out of control.
-
2 RepliesEveryone better than me is cheating
-
3 RepliesDid Clay bring out the clutch again?
-
5 RepliesI agree. If I play crucible for say an hour, on average 5 minutes is spent reporting people. It’s ridiculous.
-
What cheaters are you referring to? I don't think I've ever seen a hacker in Destiny. If you truly see someone cheating, make sure to report them. Bungie keeps an eye on players suspected of cheating and bans them when they have proof.
-
6 RepliesLocking high level rewards behind ridiculous quests is the real problem. It actually encourages cheating. I could never get Comp pinnacle weapons without cheating. If i cared that is. Not only would I not spend months grinding for Glory rank, all of the rest of the quest steps can KMA too.
