After review again, your video highlights what I mean. 2:15, you choke 5 shots at mid range. All shots flinched. 6 shots at 3:47. 5 shots at 6:44. At 9:45 you shot your proced Thorn 7 times at an already damaged Titan that wasn't even obscuring your fire by returning his own. You kill him in the end with a melee at 9:52 with the aid of a second guardian. It is mostly because of your frantic pacing at these moments, or the confidence that you had the shot. This is likely a result of the fact that... Other archetypes/rps would have rewarded you for the effort you mustered at the above mentioned times. In high level comp, that's death. And while you proved more efficient than a great many of your teammates in a quick play match, a fair amount of those kills were entirely reliant on supers, grenades, shotgun clean up, and team shots. Luna/Nf, Ace ect would have just got the job done.

My advantage is my awareness. I can play Thorn because I’m aware. How did I learn to be better at being aware... thank 6v6 quickplay for that.

Edited by Canubiis: 5/25/2019 1:59:07 PMPlease don’t lecture me about high level comp on a hand cannon. You have no idea what I can or cannot do. My demo of Thorn is to show you I disagree with your original statement because I can play with it

An enjoyable video to be sure. Quick play. Hmm. I did not see anything to refute my statement. Just a warlock peak shooting people in not comp.

Edited by Canubiis: 5/23/2019 12:04:24 PMI’m a hand cannon enthusiast as well. But I respectfully disagree that Thorn is as bad as you make it sound. But when this season of drifter is over I shall come back and post you a Thorn gameplay in comp. actually later when I get home from work I’ll use it in the Mythic rank that I am and show you the utilization of this magnificent gun and yes peaking will still be a part of it

Edited by Seiryoku: 5/23/2019 12:07:42 PMGo against 4 people equal to your skill with the Luna dustrock combo as the control for your experiment. Or some combination of waveplitter, Luna, and Ace.

I don't care what you find yourself able to do with Thorn. Show me the usage of it across the game. Show me the effectiveness of it compared to other rpm weaponry. You are one of many enthusiasts.
-
What you are able to do with a weapon is “Exactly” what you should care about more than comparing it to other weapons. It’s not the weapon that makes me win my engagement it’s how I approach them with the weapon.
-
This is a discussion of balance to the above mentioned weapons. A direct comparison of them is imperative to make clear my point. You have only demonstrated here that YOU are effective with the weapon in a non competitive casual setting.
-
There’s no balancing. It’s good as it is
-
Edited by Seiryoku: 7/22/2019 9:10:45 PMI respectfully decline that it and other 150s don't need a little love tuning in the base stats department.

I’m getting the impression that you want Thorn to be a meta weapon. Unfortunately it’s just not and probably won’t be like it was before when it was meta
-
No. I'm trying to impress upon others a consideration that 150s are under utilized on console for a reason, and that reason has been detrimental to the lack luster exotic Thorn.
-
Maybe we should both get in comp and use Thorn and compare our match results
-
To what end? I already know I like Luna, service revolver, ikelos hc, mountaintop/recluse, wave splitter, outbreak perfected... So on and so forth more in a competitive setting. You and I comparing our performance wouldn't offer credence to either argument made here.
-
No it will just prove that Thorn works for me and not for you
-
That's already been proven Canubiis.. it is fine for YOU and not others... Who also populate this game.
-
Yeah I can see that. What will you think about Luna when it downgrades to 150 rpm?
-
Edited by Seiryoku: 5/23/2019 12:51:08 PMThat it is retaining its recoil pattern animation and accuracy as stated by Bungie. Making it the only 150rpm of its kind, with a percision frame, still not plagued by the issues described above
-
Edited by Seiryoku: 5/23/2019 12:44:32 PMI wouldn't be here asking for a quality of life update to 150s otherwise, and I wouldn't have gotten this much attention if it wasn't a debated subject..
