Just like bows, swords are undoubtedly fun to use and a cool concept in a world dominated by guns. Currently I think swords are a underused archetype of weapon because they are all locked in the power/heavy slot. Im not saying to throw all swords into the special slot (thats an idea though), but maybe introduce new swords that take special ammo. Similar to how some grenade launchers take this ammo. Personally I hope the new Season brings a new pinnacle weapon in the form of a special ammo sword. (Fingers crossed for kinetic AND energy) A special ammo sword could have so much potential in Destiny. If Jotunn, grenade launchers, and shotguns can all deliver one hit kills in crucible (with range), then a sword would fit in, without breaking the meta, because their weakness is being up to the enemy In PvE, this could make swords much more accesible, thus more used. There can even be perks similar to TrenchBarrel (activated on the first swing, and working for the next 2-3, so the damage is staggered) . A perk like that would still make it viable for taking out orange bar enemies. As long as damage increasing perks are limited, considering dps, special ammo swords would have a lot of potential AND shake up the gameplay.
