Wow, this is the worst post I've seen in a long time.
I hate having to play PvE just to get gear for PvP but I don't cry about it. And you're crying because you have to complete a handful of PvP matches for a single powerful drop? Alrighty.

If you have 0 glory then you're not screwing anyone. You'll be matching a bunch of other 0 glory mostly.

No, I understand that this game has both PvP and PvE so I accept it for what it is. What I don't do is come on the forums and cry about having to play certain parts of the game for certain items.

So you just accept that you have to do things you don’t want to do in a video game?! It’s a VIDEO GAME! Stop doing things you don’t want to do and poking fun at others who make the right choice of not doing what they don’t want to do in their leisure activity. Listen up, because this is important: if a game requires you to play a mode you don’t like to get loot for a mode you do like... that’s dumb as -blam!-. In a game like Destiny there can be loot that is specific to game modes, that’s fine. Raid weapons, pinnacle PvP weapons, strike specific loot. Those things are great. But a quest that is based around PvE or PvP shouldn’t require you to go into the other. Let quests have options for completion. Thorn did this perfectly, and while it DID have a PvP only step, the quest itself didn’t have any PvE lore or unique PvE missions locked behind it. TLW did, so that quest is an example of how NOT to do it. I don’t care about having either weapon (though I have both) but I do care about the unique PvE mission in TLW questline. The Invitations of the Nine were based on PvE content and lore. They have no business crossing over into PvP. Gambit, maybe? But definitely not PvP. The point is, if you don’t enjoy something in Destiny you shouldn’t feel forced into doing it to get to content that you do enjoy. You also shouldn’t be blaming people for being upset that they are pushed to do so simply because you go into a mode you don’t like without complaining. You’re a hostage to Bungie, others are breaking those chains. Instead of seeing that you’d be better off joining their side of it, you’re stuck being a douchebag. Is it every scenario in life? Or just video games where you think that demeaning others makes you cool? It’s every aspect of life, I’m sure, but you only open your mouth anonymously on a forum and wouldn’t make a single peep if challenged in real life. So best to take those internet muscles and put them to better use by being angry at your captor instead of your fellow hostages.

Do you actually believe this? Maybe instead of complaining about a mixed environment just don't pick up the game that clearly states its mixed in the description? Like honestly. 50% of the stuff you guys complain about and not liking and not wanting to do can be found on the game case, the marketplace description, on YouTube, etc. and its clearly stated they play into each other. Thats just called basic research and paying attention. Nobody's fault but your own. Dont try to change the game's setup when many enjoy that layout just because you don't like it. [/quote] Its not just a PvE quest and Bungie made this clear from day 1 of the Invitations reveal. The Nine had their own PvP mode and now have their own PvE mode so it makes perfect sense PvP is involved. Its more than just PvE because we dont know if there's going to be a PvP aspect to the Darkness in D3. Plus the Nine are trying to learn from us which means watching us kill our enemies and each other. You're not a hostage to anyone but your own incompetence. If you enjoy things, stay and go do it. A few PvP games wont kill you. If you really can't stand things and dont want to do the PvP in a mixed quest then leave instead of complaining about it. Again it was made abundantly clear the quest was PvE and PvP and you can't use your PvE only argument because we know the Nine want to see how we perform against each other. If you really feel the need to be glued here to something you dont enjoy you're the hostage and captor. Not Bungie. Like you said, its a video game.

The rewards from the Invitations are a random powerful drop from the "world items" pool. You can get them from anywhere. As for things that are as you described, too bad. In a game like Destiny, you cannot expect to be able to get every item you want by only playing the modes you like. That's simply not how it works.

More Stockholm Syndrome from Bungie captives. Story content IS the real loot for PvE players. It should never be locked behind PvP. You can go on and on and on about how you’re fine with it. Doesn’t make it a good choice for Bungie. Locking PvE lore and story content behind PvP is stupid as -blam!-. Your opinion won’t change that.

Lore is not divided strictly into PvE and PvP. It's just Lore. It's about building the world in which the game takes place. Unsurprisingly, both PvE and PvP take place within that world. Even if you do want to split it like that, this is The Nine. Details surrounding then have been almost non-existent when compared to the rest of factions, and they have had both PvP and PvE involvement in this game in the form of Trials and Reckoning.

Lore and story have no place in PvP. If I have to explain why, you simply do not understand anything about gaming or storytelling. Lore goes hand in hand with PvE. If you’re here just for PvP then you don’t care about the story. If you’re here just for PvE you DO care about the story. You’re here to experience it because you enjoy the gameplay and the story being told. If you enjoy both, so be it, you care about competition AND the story. But to suggest that story and PvP should be connected in any more than an explanation of why the PvP modes exist at all... is just dishonest intentionally because you have no other argument.

Also PvP makes up such a small part of this game. Destiny isn't like Halo, Gears of war or Cod, just as examples. Those games have clear campaign stories and separate PvP. The separate PvP very much makes up most of the end game, people don't keep playing them for the campaign alone. Destiny however is a different kettle of fish. The campaign is a fixed thing yes, in d2 anyway. But the pve content continues to be the endgame in different ways. It's not a clear cut of, "you have done the story now play nothing put pvp". You can choose to do as much pve content as you like and never even touch the PvP. Therefore story and lore should be separate as stated.

[/quote] Each pinnacle weapon quest tells a short story, there's many things in the lore that happened to certain characters that were impactful that happened in PvP or just out and killing Guardians. You have to be seriously dumb to actually believe this when we can just pull up dozens of lore entries to prove you wrong with ease.
