If players steamrolled PvE content with OP weapons, how would it make it challenging? Literally everyone here is whining, because they actually have to have gamesense and skill after the nerf. Quit whining.

  • Do we really? This game is boring, and will remain boring unless they add fun content, especially after nerfing things that made the current content even a little bit more enjoyable

  • This is mostly new players who are used to being super reliant

  • Why gives us any guns and armour if that is the case?

  • Everyone who I’ve seen solo the hardest content has pretty much used Whisper and instantly regenerating supers to do it. Game skill or crutches?

  • The gear doesn’t make the player. If you gave just some random player the same setup there’s a high chance they couldn’t do the hard stuff on their own. The gear just assists on top of the strategy and ability required.

  • And. Take Whisper and insta super exotic gear away, and the solo clears won’t happen as much.

  • What exactly is wrong with some incredibly skilled individuals succeeding in solo clears

  • Nothing at all. I couldn’t care less. I commented on why they’re nerfing certain gear. when activities that are designed for three or six players are solo’ed and they are usually always using the gear that’s going to be nerfed, I think we all can understand why they’re nerfing it. People are upset about the whisper and exotic armor nerfs, but the reason it’s being nerfed is because that gear breaks the game. “Then design more challenging content!” You may say and it’s a good point. Bungie don’t wanna...

  • Well that’s blatant laziness then, isn’t it? Once again; it’s not the gear, it’s the user. The gear helps, but only a player who is good enough can do it (hence why I cannot). No, that’s not hypocrisy; the weapons don’t deserve to be ruined to cater to the lazy boss designs that move slowly and have crit spots so large they take effort to miss. And tell me how you can nerf shards. I mean really, it already has 0 effect. What’s it going to do now, increase recharge time?

  • It’s simple. Are they solo’ing this content without using the Infinite power ammo on the whisper or without using instant super regenerating exotic gear? Cause when I watch the videos, they’re pulling out that whisper and melting majors and regenerating their supers on mobs of adds. Then eventually melting the boss and all the majors in the boss room with the whisper. That’s the key. Never running out of ammo because they’re on their PC point and clicking headshots with little chance of missing. This game isn’t only on console anymore.

  • A simplified version of an earlier post... There are experience players who live in the moment and are looking for challenge. That's all that matters to them. There are progression players who want to grow their character and feel powerful. That's what matters to them. Neither side is wrong, but the game should be able to handle both. Bungie is removing the ability of progression players to enjoy the game because they know progression is temporary. For a progression player, this means it's pointless to play. Experience players cannot understand the viewpoint so they denigrate progression players who are rightfully upset, and tell them to "stop whining". Progression players are NOT afraid of challenge - they accepted the challenge to get the weapons and gear they wanted. They played all modes to get them, even the ones they didn't like. They paid their dues. But set all that aside. Does it strike you odd we are in a cycle of having weapons taken away only to have them drip fed back to us in new form down the road? To a progression player, why ever earn a gun? Why not just keep the vanilla guns and play the content... oh, the goal of a progression player is to play the content to get gear and weapons... And the argument new content has to be built with pinnacle weapons in mind? WELL OF COURSE THEY SHOULD! Bungie stated that as if it was a bad thing and people just accepted it, but that statement should have been dissected, parsed, and discussed more. EVERY encounter ALWAYS has an optimal loadout - they just do by nature. That Bungie has to limit power on the very pinnacle weapons they create in order to create new content isn't a power problem at all; it reveals the limits of their imaginations. Mechanic-->Freeze Boss-->DPS... lather, rinse, repeat. And dangit, why were guns such as WotW created? As DPS monsters to fight the bosses that were Mechanic-->Frozen-->DPS'd. This is why Vault of Glass stands out today (to me) as the best Destiny raid. Sure, WotW would knock Atheon down toot sweet (dig my French?), but getting to the final encounter is much of the fun, and truthfully WotW wouldn't be that useful throughout the preceding material. It was a well-designed raid from beginning to end, with multiple ways to approach it. I guess I would add the weapons that dropped from that raid had perks that were specifically geared to help do the raid, which was nice, and the difficulty of the raid was more about your power level than what weapon you carried. There was a vast difference between a level 28 and a level 30, for instance. Well, this went longer than I intended! Bottom line, TL:DR, etc... Bungie has just gutted the main incentive for many players to engage content. Whether that hits you in particular, you must realize it hit a LOT of players hard. View that as you will, but when your next matchmade event takes 10 minutes to load, or you queue in short on your fire team, you'll know why.

[/quote] I call bull when something new isnt beat in a few hours the community goes nuts says it's to hard. Most other games take weeks or more to complete the hardest activities this community could not handle it.

  • Uh... if you are referring to the Forge deal Gladd’s team pulled more than a 24-hour straight grind on... you do remember Bungie messed up and left part of the clues out... right? You also recall everyone was locked out of the Forge until any team beat it... right? You realize it couldn’t be beaten without the clues... right? In most cases I couldn’t care less who gets world’s first, but when I’m locked out of content until someone does and it turns out to be an unbeatable deal because of a Bungie mistake... yeah, I think I have a right to complain about that.

  • You don't shift a meta by nerfing things, you do that with new weapons and butfs. Bungie started this shit, I don't want my meta shook up like this. Also, they added whisper knowing this would happen again

So again the players have to adjust because bungie are not capable at all..again

They’re just shifting the meta. Then, a few moths down the road after that it’ll change again, and again. Not lack of competence. Not a lack of game development either.

  • Nerfs like this make grinding in this game pointless. The only reason to grind Light Level is to gain access to content that gives you cool and powerful shit. If all of the shit people are chasing is given a countdown to obsolescence, what is the point of even doing any of it? Why would anybody bother grinding to 690-700 light to get Outbreak Perfected and do all of the extra steps to masterwork it if it's just going to be made irrelevant later on? It's a waste of -blam!-ing time, inside of a waste of -blam!-ing time.

So it's all meaningless isnt it? Theres no solid foundation. The game is basically built on sand, so why bother going for item x, especially when it's like whisper when tbe catalyst is a 3 week endeavour, when you have no idea what Bungie will decide to do with it next?
