Never thought I'd say this, because Activision is the nemesis of gaming, but I respect their decision to leave. Bungie just surpassed the reputation of Activision. That's an embarrasment.

  • Activision didnt leave bungie. It was bungie who lefted and finally gained ownership of their ip. It more like bungie and Activision didnt see eye to eye.

  • You know that Activision could have, "persuaded," Bungle by refusing to publish any content, which according to the contract would mean no Destiny on the market until 2024, ensuring the franchises death. You think a mega corporation would take a check for $100-140M, when the game (if healthy) could bring in $400M a year ($1.6B by 2024) OUT OF THE KINDNESS OF THEIR BIG, SWEET, GENEROUS, CORPORATE HEARTS?!?!?!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! I've got some majic beans, ocean front property in Arkansas, and penis enlargement pills for you.

  • That's a little much, don't you think? Bungie nerfing things surpasses a greedy mega-corporation where the people that run it don't even care about what it is they are selling as long as their investors are happy?

  • What's a little bit much? Bungie who wants to be a mega-corporation by taking your money, giving you a product to only take it away later?

To be replaced by a new product that was made with the new experience in mind. Why let the game get stale and stagnant? And its not like they are removing Whisper from the game. They upped the ammo and made it so it wouldn't give infinite ammo. Come on, infinite ammo? It actually makes sense when you look at it without trying to find something to be mad about. No one weapon should have all other weapons and large parts of the game designed around its cheesiness.

  • The thing with Whisper is that its not a "ups we made it too powerful and now people are using it for everything and we need to fix that" its a we made a weapon 5 years ago with this exact same system, people loved it but that gave us the exact same issues and we applied the exact same fix and people hated the fix... lets do the exact same shit all over again in Destiny 2, thats either sloppiness, "i dont give a -blam!-" attitude or down right incompetence, pick your poison. This is why many are saying that all those piss poor choices made during the franchise life that many blamed Activision (founded causation or not) for was never Activision fault but rather Bungie's (again founded causation or not)

  • I mean I really can't defend the fact that they did the exact same release, then nerf of a weapon they did in D1. And tbh, I probably shouldn't be defending them as much as I am because I have plenty of problems with the way they do certain things. I guess I just don't like seeing the community constantly angry and demoralized by the things they do and would rather we get through these screw ups with everyone still on board. Got too much time in this game to just watch it die. But yeah. The way you just put it I'd be an idiot to say that that's okay. And honestly I'd go with sloppiness. Ever since the company got real big they've had serious problems with releasing content in a manner that conveys broad feeling of respect for their community. And I believe it's not intentional its just that they have a tendency to willfully bite off more than they can chew it seems.

  • I see, fair enough reasoning, i kind of get it. Sure it would be great if all could go through these situations without such uproars and reaching a middle ground between company and player base but it rarely happens and when it does its a toke action from Bungie. We complain, complain some more, those of us more extreme call bungie everything but saints, but we do so because we like this game and the universe it created, even with all the up and downs we are still here, i joined at the end of September of 2014, i may not have thousand of hours but i have been there every step of the way. We saw how D1 went then we see D2 getting a pre launch reset like D1, poor vanilla like D1, worse first dlc like D1, better DLC like D1, Big DLC to fix/save the game like in D1, we saw what to some was a lack luster content in the season pass now we see the exact same thing that happened with Black Hammer happing with Whisper and we are like "what the hell bungie!" Anyway, back to what i was trying to say before i derailed with rant, sorry about that by the way, we react this way because we care about the game, we care about those items that to some were pretty darn hard to get, the moment people no longer complain about these things is the day we know for certain that this game as faced its final death.. Peace guardian and pardon my bad english.

And Bungie is definitely not very good at the middle ground thing. You have a good day, and your english is way better than most of the Americans on here.

  • You are missing the point about Whisper. This is the same -blam!-ing problem that Bungie had with Whisper in D1 and came up with the same nerf as a solution. THEY KNEW THIS WOULD BE A PROBLEM in D2 yet they took our money and did it anyway. Bungie takes our money, recycles gear, people think the gear is fun, and Bungie takes it away AGAIN! Bungie knew this shit was a problem before they introduced Whisper, Ace, Skull, etc and did it anyway. Very little of the gear that was nerfed is new gear.

  • You are right that putting something in the game that they know they are going to have to nerf later isn't exactly a responsible thing to do. But the way to be responsible about it would be to explain to people that this is how the game operates. That way it won't keep coming as such a surprise to people every time they do this. And its not like people paid specifically for Whisper or any other single weapon or armor. We paid for an evolving game. The game is evolving and thats what we signed up for.

  • So we signed up to be beta testers? Just because the Doctor tells me he is going to put a rod up my ass before he does it doesn’t make Me like it any better when it happens.

We didn't sign up to be testers. We signed up, or should have signed up, with the understanding that we were giving Bungie the permission to take us on a journey. Kind of like going on a cruise where Bungie is the captain. There are times where the captain might seem drunk or we might have sailed through a storm or two but people should have known what they were getting into and that with a game like this there could be rough patches. Its okay to not like every single decision they make and voice our frustration but one gun and some armor being nerfed in preparation for a season of new content that none of us even know what any of it is and for people to be losing their shit like this is kind of ridiculous.

[quote]That's a little much, don't you think? Bungie have screwed over their own creation and fan base 😂. Bungie paid $165mil to Activision to get out of their contract. If Activision just care about money why would they accept that......because Destiny was making a loss. Better to cash out then stay with a sinking ship. Bungie are the creators yet they focus on the money side of things. Bungie just want to milk us fans for every penny, it's simple. They have lost tract of what destiny should be and so are focusing on money, like they always have. People need to open their eyes and stop blaming Activision for all d2s problems. If it wasn't for Activision there wouldn't be a lot of the content or the things promised with the annual pass. It's very simple.

  • I don't blame Activision for the games problems because in order to I would have to do nothing but speculate. The truth is no one knows what crappy stuff was their fault and no one knows what was totally Bungie's fault. What we do know for sure is that Activision has a pretty bad track record when it comes to caring about anything other than money.

  • Yes the fans of this game love to speculate about things. And are wrong a hell of a lot of the time. It's something that Bungie could limit if they were a little bit more open and direct about what kind of experiences they intend for us to be having .

  • But if they were open about everything they are responsible for..... maybe they wouldn't have such ardent supporters.....

  • I think they could be a little bit more open about the way and why they do things. But at the same time airing their dirty laundry for all to see won't help anything. They just had some pretty important people leave the company and they are probably working on D3. I personally don't need them to take a reality tv approach to the way they develop the game, I just wish that they could provide a little more info as to what it is they are ultimately trying to accomplish. It would lead to less speculation and conspiracy theories. I thought the dev teams comments in the last TWAB were a good example of what they should be doing more often in the future. They said what they were doing and why they were doing it straight from the horse's mouth. There should be something along those lines in pretty much every single TWAB. Maybe with some stats to support their decisions. Although I don't think we need stats to understand that a sniper with infinite ammo is a problem.

  • I agree. It would be nice if Bungie could work out what it is they want though as it seems they dont have a clue. Makes it difficult to understand some of the changes they are making. I also agree about the sniper. Tbh the perk was kinda broken anyway lol so having it taken out isn't that big a deal. 🙂
