Did Anyone Really Want the Skull of Dire Ahamkara Nerfed?

Seriously, Bungie, WTF? At least leave it alone for PVE, It made me fall in love with Nova Bomb all over again.

    • Doesn’t matter what we “ask for”. The Skull is giving us our super back for Nova bombing 3-5 enemies in pve. It needed to be scaled back.

        I enjoyed the Skull immensely, but that shit was too powerful. Trivialized the game a bit too much and made every other exotic in PVE not worth using. There is a reason most Warlocks you see are wearing it in PVE. And when one exotic is dominating player usage, it’s not good for the health of the game. Thing needed to be toned down a bit. It was fun while it lasted.

          • People need to stop equating Powerful with Broken. FFS, it's a Power Fantasy GAME. For those decrying that it's a looter. Well,yeah, but the loot becomes trash, too - You find and use nothing but slingshots. Then one day you happen upon a glorious new weapon - the fabled wrist rocket. Oh man, gonna do some damage with this - let the fun begin!! Then Bungie comes around when you're not looking and swaps out the high tension elasticized tubing with an office store rubber band. Wow - now it's just another slingshot, just with a now unnecessary oversized braced grip.

          • Sounds to me that they forgot what they wanted their game to be and got caught up in something that seemed like a good thing because the feature they want you to lean on isn't actually well designed. In other words teamwork in this game isn't natural and it is painfully obvious when with randoms and exotics got developed to bypass it. You would think that they would either fix the issue directly or make exotics that emphasize that aspect more. Say instead of feeding super energy to the user it goes to teammates so they can make orbs and the cycle can continue if they work properly. I don't disagree with bungies desires for how the game is meant to be but the methods they take are often half hearted.

          • As a community, we need to accept these changes. Bungie haven't done this just to piss people off. There's quite a lot of secret stuff coming next season, I'm going to bet that these changes are being made so that the pve content (new 6 player match made activity), plus probably more are going to be meaningful experiences. Imagine a hoard mode where you can just stay in a well and just throw nova's and tethers all day.

              • Anyone who think this nerf isn’t justifiable is just a blind hater. I use this all the time and it’s ridiculous how you have infinite Nova bomb in any pve activity. I hope they don’t nerf it too bad since it’s my favorite warlock class but it absolutely needs to be toned down.

                    • It needed to be nerfed in PVE. It wasn't over powered in PVP and if you actually take a few minutes and think about the nerfs to Skull, it fairly broken in PVE.

                    • Ah yes, now I can move on to my real fave exotics! Can't wait to bust out my Wings of Sacred Dawn, maybe have a little Aeon Soul action? OH OH I KNOW, maybe go punch some things with Winters Guile, that sounds fun. Better yet, let me mark some things so I can see them through walls with my BESTIE Sanguine Alchemy!!

                      • I use warlock the most of it definitely needed a nerf. 95% of the time you’d get your entire super back. The only people that think nerf is bad are blind haters.

                      • I did. All Super Returning Exotics should cap at 50% Super. Skull was the most powerful as it whipped big boy bosses and got all its super back.

                      • Yes, actually. It was the most broken exotic in the game. When I played with people running that exotic I wouldn't even get a chance to shot enemies sometimes as they would instant gib them. Every activity got trivialized by it. Good nerf, no one exotic should ever do that. Period.

                      • Ohh, hahaha. You must be one of those people who only used a dust rock blues, lh/nf and a cool for however long it’s been, oh, oh, don’t forget the spectral. I feel like we should all listen to you and you should get control of the game because your just such an advanced being who obiously has a lot of self respect and who doesn’t need any satisfaction to actually be satisfied.

                      • Tl/dr at end of post. You're actually dense if you didn't see these needs coming. How much fun do you think this game would be after another 3 months of using the exact same loadouts for activities? What about 6 months? A year? If you don't understand why Bungie is nerfing the overused and overpowered gear, then why play a looter MMO? Let's say Bungie buffs everything up to whisper level good. What does that mean for game encounters? Endgame encounters? I don't think it'd be very fun to steamroll every boss in the game using the same loadout every week, every month, every year of this games lifespan. D2 is slowly becoming much more of a looter game, Bungie nerfing these weapons and armor pieces makes room for more variety. Now players can run say... Darci, which was previously overshadowed by whisper and had no reason to be used. This can also be said about armor pieces as well. Nerfing Skull and Phoenix protocol gives players alot more options to use, like nezeracs sin, or lunafactions (given the whisper nerf.) If you can't adapt to loadout changes, then why play a looter game? Tl/dr: Games like destiny need constant loadout change. Without it, the game will get even more stale than it already is.
