Malfeasance is a pretty good gun in pve, but quite a few of the other exotic primaries are starting to pass malfeasance in usability a bit.
It doesn't really need much, but I have a few suggestions I think would make it just a bit more useful:
Increase its...what is it called...detonation, by around 15% against all targets.
Increase its damage against taken by an additional 10% for the base weapon, meaning the bullets themselves and not the detonation thing.
This will make it a little better at killing normal enemies as well as taken.
Thorn is also a good weapon to use as it's burn damage and ammo efficiency make it pretty good.
I think the burn should be just a bit more deadly when soul devour isn't active.
So like instead of the gun doing 200 a tick by itself and then 1000 with devour, increase base burn to 500.
So base burn does around half devours damage.
This will increase its base damage it can deal while not changing the maximum, which is already pretty good once devour is active.
Leave your thoughts to what I proposed please.

7 RepliesThorn is not a good weapon. You want to fix it? Proc on kill, no stupid orbs, or timer, just four boosted bullets. 20+ range, fix the stability, recoil and animation. Remove bloom. Fix the reticle, should be a dot....

1 ReplyAmong other things, I really wish they would reintroduce small arms. There's enough modifiers for when they want guardians to feel weak, small arms needs to be there to grant those opportunities to feel strong. But aside from that. I think the nature of the corruption damage needs to be void on both thorn and malf. The actual impact damage is kinetic, but the damage dealt should be of void class just like the fire fly of ace is solar. When void burn is up this would allow their triggering effects to yield vastly superior results be it thorn cooking things down or malf blowing things up.............. Though malf I've always had one solution..... The weapon can fire what *glances* 14 rounds. Have it do this. Eliminate the reload animation. Each projectile fired lodges into what ever surface it lands on. Kinda like telesto. Hitting the reload button causes the projectiles to rapidly detonate in order that they were fired, as each projectile detonates, the round is loaded back into the weapon. In pvp this allows you to lay traps, and also delay target healing if they run behind cover because you can press reload to detonate any porjectiles lodged in them............... *taps chin* okay I suppose that may be a problem I'll think more on it... In pvp, each successive detonation that resulted from a headshot increases in damage, so if you get five headshots, a body shot, then three headshots, each of the headshots in succession stack increasing damage, reset at the body shot, then starts over. So. If you land every shot a headshot, you could do seriously critical damage to a target when you hit that reload button.... Not that it will help you on targets that vanish or turn invincible... Either way, converting the burn of thorn and the explosions of malf to void based damage will go a long way to fix the problem.

3 RepliesI say make malfeasance where every fifth shot causes the big explosion instead of every fifth shot on 1 target .. this way you can spread the explosion across multiple adds or something like that .. this gun is so cool looking but It has no place outside a very few specific situations

2 RepliesI hope the catalyst gives it Rapid Hit with the range boost, or allow it to detonate on 3 hits instead of 5. Something about the gun makes it feel incomplete as an exotic. Hell its only halfway decent in Gambit, and it’s a Gambit Exotic.

2 RepliesMalfeasance is fine. The problem is that people want the gun to be something that it isn't. If you want a weapon that is more efficient at killing adds or performing crowd control...use Ace of Spades. Malfeasance is a weapon designed to kill Taken....Invaders in Gambit....and take out bosses and mini-bosses. But its never going to be a Crucible weapon....or a weapon that mows down (non-Taken) trashmobs. It does hoever does a tremendous amount of damage when you put five rounds into whatever your target it....and they all go off for bonus damage equal to five precision shots.
