Every activity besides patrol and adventures matchmake you into a fireteam. A great majority of the game requires a fireteam and teamwork. Any of the end game activities require fireteams, save for a very few example like Throne, Whisper, and Zero Hour. There is no such thing as solo players in Destiny, just players who can’t fit into a team environment.
I get that it’s sometimes difficult to find people you click with, but Destiny is made to be a team based game. Playing Solo greatly reduces the activities you can partake in which reduces the fun you can have with the game.
Solo players, why don’t you want to partake in the full experience?

Maybe my personality type is one that enjoys doing what I want to do without having to juggle the wants and needs of 2-5 other strangers? Maybe people are different than you? And playing solo doesn’t lock you out of the majority of content, I can easily clear a good 75-80% of weeklies and dailies without a team. The only thing it really affects are raids and nightfalls and the odd quest that is a pain to solo. I accepted long ago that there are just some things I won’t get, but the benefit of playing how I want to play exceeds the need to bang my head against a raid with a group of randos that can’t stop eating chips, taking smoke breaks, or complaining about how their sandwich is cut (true story).
