An option to go into the outbreak mission just to explore without a timer could be cool

No enemies would spawn in this mode either, just pure exploration. Its nice being able to visit the old tower again.....not as a mission just an area to mess around in like the planets for example. As others brought up could be unlocked after beating heroic or something.

  • Maybe not have entire level open. Allow for part of the jump puzzle so it can be practiced. Could also add in lore collectibles or quest starting items. It has been fun to explore the level.

    Or, they can stop using timers as a form of challenge and actually come up with better mechanics to make an actual challenge so you can explore. Edit: Look at Shattered throne, if they can do that why can't they come up with something better then a timer for a quest for an exotic?

    • Remove the timers. Who wouldn't like to go these missions solo. Or provide the options for timed for additional rewards or un-timed for the normal drop(s), or optional matchmaking. Is providing options such a big ask and to cater for all members of the community.

      • It’s a great mission but the timer does make it annoying. Heroic version took me around 3.5 / 4 hours to beat finally.

      • Having a Timer is Okay but it shouldn't start until You drop down to the Boss. When You drop, a 10-Min Timer starts. As we all know You have to have 5-min plus left to get the Special Emblem, If You can clear everything Fast enough a 10-min Timer would give you a chance to get it.

      • I feel like this is a good idea, but it has a few drawbacks. The main problem would be that players could find secrets much more easily than intended. It might just end up ruining the mission and it's mysterious feel. Just to make it clear, I am NOT objected to this idea. I'm only showing some possible consequences of it. Every time I make a statement on the forums showing a problem with an idea, people get the impression that I'm shitting all over it. I'm not, I'm just being open minded and considering all possibilities.

        • I think if you don't complete within the timer you don't get the reward but can still run around the level. People put in a lot of work to create the level/experience and we have to rush through it without getting to look at anything.

        • Someone on here suggested allowing the player to continue the mission after the timer ends. You'd have all the time you need to learn the mission, but wouldn't get the weapon until you beat the timer. I thought that was a good idea.

          • The mission itself shouldn't have any timer, it's a lame way of raising the difficulty while adding nothing of value to the experience.

            • Much better idea enter the area with no timer but do not get the gun until you beat the time allowing time to explore and practice runs

              • I like the difficulty but when I saw it had a timer I gave up. As a solo player ill never get the weapon until I level up way later in penumbra. My issue is timers, it doesn’t belong. There is a reason players hated timers on nightfalls

              • Nah... Make it super-duper easy for the participation trophy players out there. Delete this quest. Make it a drop when you kill 5 fallen enemies in the Drain lost sector on EDZ . The boss also you have to kill, just to be able to open up the lost sector chest. 'coz jumping is hard. No point in jumping. No point in having multiple runs to learn and improve. Just give the weapon to the must-have-this-weapon-thou-i-kinda-suck-at-dis-game crowd. Just make the weapon a guaranteed drop from Drain lost sector, and call it a day. /S

                • I brought this up just a minute ago in another post. I have physical issues with my hands making jumping puzzles damn near impossible especially with a timer. Having to run the first 3 encounters before getting to the puzzle and then being VERY limited on time to learn it and practice it makes this almost not possible. I did solo the first 3 not knowing what was happening nor coming up at that point but quite with a few minutes left due to lack of special and heavy ammo. I literally fear going back in with my clanmates knowing I will be preventing them from completing the mission because of how long it will take me to complete the puzzle, if ever. BUT, having the ability to just run it a few hundred times, that's literally what I had to due with the Whisper glitch in, then I 'might' stand a chance. Again as I stated in the other post [b]JUST ADMIT YOU OPENLY AND ACTIVELY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST PEOPLE WITH PHYSIOLOGICAL HAND ISSUES[/b] with these complex jumping puzzles mixed with a timer. The sad thing is I liked the jumping puzzles, just kill the timer and make it so we can practice them without torturing other people in the process. EDIT - You know another solution would be to either not start a timer till after the jumping puzzle or have it paused during it. I can see some issue with this, cheese/glitch wise, but if it was done such that everyone had to be in a room before the next stage could begin (think Mars and other Strikes), that would help resolve this potential.

                  • It would be nice but there are only so many hours in a day. Between this idea and Bungie building new content I would prefer the latter.
