The newer one, and the whisper one.. without that timer the mission would actually be fun to do.. it would still require skill, right now it just frustrates half the playerbase..
Hell at least give it twice the amount of time required if you "have to".. i mean i'm no casual gamer and i get frustrated by them.. i have friends who are casual gamers and for they, this mission is just near impossible..
Please don't alienate your playerbase from certain content of the game..

1 ReplyThey need better ways to add a challenge then just putting in a timer. its just lazy
-
Because they're incapable of giving you an actual challenge without adding artificial difficulty. They're a lazy, terrible dev.
-
8 RepliesI would love to just explore that area for hours . All that development just to speedrun that mission -.- Have a non timer version , yes please, just like the old lighthouse. But be aware of the many 'gitguddies' who some how still think a timer adds difficulty, they will miss the poing and bank on that this MUST be since its one of their only achievement in life

1 ReplyA Timer is fine just let the Timer (10-min) start when You reach the Boss
-
3 RepliesThe time wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to spend so long jumping around to get to the boss room.

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
I don’t know why the timer isn’t optional. Complete the mission within the timer and get the gun and an emblem and weapon skin. Complete the mission after the timer has ran out and you only get the gun. Everyone gets to play the mission how they want, and there’s incentive to go back and play it again if you took your time. -
14 RepliesEdited by Sherpa: 5/8/2019 6:29:53 AMSolution: remove timer from normal leave it on hard and create an even harder difficulty with a shorter timer that awards some cool cosmetics I love challenges like this but some don't so this way everyone can get the gun without a timer (maybe make respawn restricted zones in normal for difficulty?) but if you want the catalyst and a cool cosmetic get to practicing and beat the timer

I’m sick of the Timers and Time Gated quests. We’ve had a fair share of both in D2. Enough is enough with the artificiality enhanced difficulty Bungie. Time to step up the Dev Game. I’ve got all the quest exotics so have done them all. Just tired of the Timer mechanic. Feels like lazy Development to me. Rant over.

1 ReplyThe timer makes it so you have to watch someone on youtube to basically understand where to go (unless you and a group want to spend 3-4 hours trying to figure out the route by yourself constantly having to restart once timer hits zero). This creates traffic to D2 streamers like Datto and the like to get paid because Bungie has created a demand. "Click here to know the tips and tricks to get the Outbreak Perfected!" "Smash that like and subscribe button, bros!" "Click that bell so you never miss when I can tell you how to play a video game because Bungie put up these ridiculously circuitous means of completing a task that unless you have 24 hours of free time a day you will never be able to figure it out!" Then Bungie has another "community summit" where it is streamers and youtubers basically talking to Bungie about what their game should have. Does anyone else see the pattern yet? Or is it just me?

16 RepliesSimple answer. Bungie lacks innovation, creativity and time management.

1 ReplyAny half decent player can get this if you stick with a team, learn and adapt. Got mine on my 5th attempt with 2 randoms. You and the rest will get it soon enough. Maybe spend less time -blam!- on here and use the time to get better ?
-
1 ReplyI played with casuals and a full time job has demoted me to a casual now. Got the mission done in an hour with LFG people. It’s truly not that hard and if you have the simple ability to learn from mistakes it should be two or three runs.
-
Edited by Bubbs: 5/9/2019 8:05:35 PMIt’d be actually impossible to fail as long as you don’t give up. I like the timer

2 RepliesEdited by NaylB: 5/8/2019 8:37:59 AMBecause the point is to learn the route and get better and more efficient. Only had time for 3 attempts with some pals last night. We got better each time, we came really close the 3rd time (I was tired and kept screwing one particular bit up, so it's probably my fault I couldn't get to the boss room and help soon enough, heh) But we'll try again tonight, we've been thinking about load-outs that would be better and what we could do to save even more time. It's been really fun to do that, and I'm really looking forward to trying again tonight. You wouldn't have that if you could just take a gentle stroll through it. I know it kind of sucks if you don't have a fireteam, but what you could do if you don't want to LFG is just hang near the marker, because there's a lot of solo people just hanging there that might also be looking for a fireteam. Invite them.

Edited by Swiftchao: 5/9/2019 7:49:44 AM- I mean the mission wouldn't even be that special without the timer and would just become another BORING strike that you would only play for the loot and never again - A big part of the mission is having to learn the area if you removed the timer you wouldn't need to learn the mission and just fumble your way through it to the end and part of the experience is lost
without that timer the mission would actually be fun to do.. it would still require skill
- It would be easier without the timer so idk where you get the idea removing it would require skill anywhere near the same amount of skill you would need to do in within a time limit - If you don't want to play the activity as intended then find someone to carry you or wait for the inevitable exploit that will be found eventually

3 RepliesIts a heist in the middle of enemy territory. You tell me why there shouldn't be a timer lore wise. You are helping our ally escape with the prize.

Edited by W33DEDPLAGUE: 5/9/2019 4:17:36 PM"Going forward, we are designing the game for the hobbyist." With that said, there would be zero challenge without the timer. They would have to replace it with extinguish or something and I'm betting people would get even more frustrated by that. A surprise, secret, and fun mission we had no idea was coming, yet people STILL find a way to complain....geez. it's not supposed to be easy to just run through in one run. You have to practice it and memorize the path, etc. That's by design. People get so mad because of their FOMO. "Oh no, these guys have the gun already and I'm still trying to do it. This isn't fair." No, run it over and over until you get it down and go earn your gun, it's not supposed to be easy and it SHOULDN'T BE.

7 RepliesEdited by OnlineDude2095: 5/8/2019 12:13:49 PMBecause if it doesn't have a timer then it's not meaningful and then acquiring the weapon would mean nothing.

You could explore the mission area without worrying about completing the mission. The timer forces you to have some understanding of the layout of the mission.

3 RepliesI think the timer is fine here. Gives a healthy sense of urgency, and I don’t see why they’d have to change it for players who it’s clearly not meant for.

2 RepliesThere’s this thing called a challenge.

2 RepliesHere's how to fix your problem. Don't do the mission. Bye

8 RepliesNah without the timer it would be far too easy. It makes it nice and spicy. Can't wait to play it tomorrow 😀

2 RepliesEdited by xTh3XPr0g1dyx: 5/8/2019 2:30:15 PMThey're not alienating anyone, and to say that you aren't casual and then contradict yourself is honestly dumb. This quest is 100% easier than the d1 version, git gud.

2 RepliesIs it bungie's fault that you can't do it? Some even soloed and you can't do it with a party? Some of my clan even carried some lower level clan-mates. What is fun?
