How Do You All Feel About Bungie & This Upcoming Nerf?

So we all know how the reception for Luna's Howl/Not Forgotten nerf has pretty much been: from very positive/negative at best to mixed at worst. But one thing that has always been bothering me ever since the announcement is the future implications that this nerf will have. I don't mean on the game itself but i mean on the community's feelings toward Bungie as a whole. Some are praising Bungie for this decision while a lot of others are swearing off Destiny once Season 7 deploys in four weeks. I just want to see how you all feel about Bungie and what you think the implications will be going forward.

  • You larger player base has always been pve. Your larger player base has been dealing with nerfs due to pvp the entire life of destiny. Your larger player base is dwindling massively. What ever your opinion is.. it should have never been introduced as they are and nerfing them is for the betterment of the game. The tiny few that are crying foul can get over it. Not only are they not the first to deal with a nerf, it is not even that bad if a nerf. Not like how the vex mytho turned into a niche weapon due to pvp.

    • Good, balance change was needed. They are doing something about it. It could be too little too late but we will see.

    • it is very much needed i will only come back if they get nerfed, feel free to check my activity, i quit teh game because of Luna and NF I sincerely hope that Bungie LEARNED and will never ever in the history of forever give such rewards from and for pvp The only rewards you should get from high end pvp should be COSMETIC /TITLES , not stuff to give you even a more advantage What happened? ppl abused the system with various methods, got their weapons and never set foot in ranked again, instead it went into normal pvp and destroyed casuals, casuals left in droved, Bungie stepped in

      • My thought is simple: Bungie can not understand their community no matter how many community conferences or events they have (Part of the problem, to be fair to those events, is that they only really listen to the streamers instead of the community at large, but nevertheless this will forever be a problem with Bungie's inability to deliver an adequate product). Halo MP was what essentially started MLG. Why? It had a simplicity with weapon options and creativity with map design while delivering on solid FPS mechanics. More specific: 1.) WEAPON OPTIONS: This was limited. And that is why it worked. There were not 50 variants for the magnum - there was 1 magnum. There were not 50 variants to the pulse rifles - there was 1 BR. And these were not weapons that one had to grind for hours to obtain in activities they did not care to play in order to achieve. They were on the map, and it was first come, first serve with a lot of them (or you started with them). Best of all: every weapon was the same. There were no br's with kill clip or headseeker - the BR was the BR, and your skill with the weapon was based on your understanding of the weapon, not on any random perks it was given. That is why my friends and I would set up a private match on Guardian and train with that damn BR so we got the 4 shot down. It was great times. 2.) MAP DESIGN: Although Bungie has struggled with this over the years, it seemed like they were improving. But they shot themselves in the foot going back to 4v4, and thus designing maps for 4v4. Taking games to 6v6 with a map designed for 4v4 is just messy, and you can see it on smaller maps. There is so much congestion that respawns tend to end up with spawn killing when supers come into play. Rumble still works for these maps, but their size is just not what Bungie use to do. We use to have maps that ranged from small, medium and large, and game modes that fit each one beautifully. Now, we have one map size, and every mode seems to try and squeeze into it, often coming up short. 3.) Solid FPS mechanics: Bungie still has this, no question. If they could just get back to the basics on the other two, they could have a winner on their hands. But they won't. Because people like Luke Smith claim they know what we want rather than actually talk to us about what we want.

      • My main take-away is that it will be coming almost nine months since they were first introduced to when an update that addresses them will be put to public servers. That is the longest in the Destiny franchise history that an item or group of items has so completely dominated an aspect of the game, while at the same time being a hotly-debated item with a significant amount of negative commentary. I read this as an indication that Bungie might be heavily prioritizing other aspects of the franchises sandbox elements, to not pull man-hours from something that is going to be relegated to being a side-show mode with minimal upkeep. I can't help but compare the LH situation in Crucible with Sleeper Simulant in Gambit.

      • To me it looks like it’ll ultimately be the same but a little slower Granted I don’t have the guns (mainly due to time constraints but I’m worming my way there) but I would’ve liked to see the crucible pinnacle weapons as high risk high reward like redrix and mountaintop, Luna and nf should be good and worth the effort they require but I feel in no way should they seem like an easy win, rather a unforgiving but extremely powerful monster in skilled hands, with a hard but fair trail, akin to redrix but not needing rank, rather determination

        • TBH it doesn’t surprise me whatsoever. If anything I was wondering what took the nerf train so long to arrive at the station? Look, every popular weapon or character class ability has been nerfed during the history of this franchise. It’s what Bungie has always done. Pisses everyone off at some point.

          • Mixed feelings, 😐 for all those guardians that invested time and try and try with effort and got it, 😂 for all those sweaty yolos that paid their carrys and overall 😏 cause as always, this is Destiny and nothing changes, same old habits chasing the dragon and not so much later on nerf ftw.
