Now 99% of gear is either instantly scrapped or vaulted. Tell me I'm wrong.

Yep, it meant exactly the same thing it means in D2 at present
-
Nope. It’s pretty much the exact same.
-
Ya. It meant I had to go to the EDZ for 2 hours and farm spin medal, level up crap just to unlock the perk and find it didn't do shit, then play the raid 2-3 times for some stupid ass Ascended Shards to max it out.. Miss me with that shit, buddy. 😘
Now 99% of gear is either instantly scrapped or vaulted. Tell me I'm wrong.
Gear was more scares. Which was good. Now it's all dime a dozen dogshit because the casuals all cried big crocodile tears

It's interesting seeing the replies from some saying "I scrapped as many in D1 as D2". I remember differently knowing there weren't anywhere near as many duplicates in D1 as there is in D2 especially knowing D2 is mostly about cosmetics. Then there is the... The lack of loot to chase in D2 The lack of actually updating the vendors inventory, raids, strikes, nightfall, etc... when it comes to loot. The lack of actually having a currency to purchase items in the game that gamers end up having a hell of a lot more material than actual loot that is usable in the game. Making material like cores that Bungie is trying to treat like a currency that became another useless material that doesn't even come close to serving the purpose motes of light did. When it came to improving your stats, perks, skill tree, character customization. D1 was better in most ways then D2 is currently even though D2 has more activities. Now, if Bungie could learn from D1 on what worked for D1 and apply it to D2, D2 would be a hell of a lot better off.

41 RepliesEdited by DeathPony07: 5/6/2019 3:00:25 PMRemember when vendors and factions actually sold armor and weapons that rotated rolls every week? Remember when you got high level faction packages when you leveled up? Remember when infusion wasn't limited and annoying? You could even use extra gear to infuse your other characters, instead of grinding power levels for all 3. Remember when armor wasn't ugly? Remember when shaders weren't ugly? Remember when nightfalls weren't timed, and annoying? Remember when strike specific loot was guaranteed with a skeleton key, and not nightfall exclusive with a non-existent drop rate. Grinding hundreds of nightfalls for a transmat effect or sparrow is so much fun, right? Remember when Archon Forge would consistently drop powerful gear? Remember when we had the great system of Intellect/Discipline/Strength, instead of an annoying mod system with cooldowns that are still slower than D1's? Remember when there were cool looking class items? Remember when enemies exploded from Combustion on Golden Gun? Remember when the Vortex Nova Bomb and Stormtrance weren't completely useless and unenjoyable? Why doesn't Stormtrance work like it did in D1? Why does it have to slowly build damage? Remember when Whisper and Sleeper didn't get their ammo reserves destroyed? Remember when flinch wasn't excessive? Remember Raze Lighter, Dark Drinker, and Bolt Caster? Finally, do you remember when Destiny was fun, and about getting loot, instead of a boring endless grind for power levels. Elitists killed everything fun about this game. Borderlands 3 can't come out soon enough. A real looter shooter.

1 ReplyYeah, you're right. When you decrypted a Legendary Engram and got a Rare item, it actually felt impactful. Or how about getting Shank, Dreg Burn on a Rocket Launcher?
-
Only certain weapons or armor pieces that were acquired the first time ever meant anything in either D1 or D2. Nothing has changed in that regard.
Now 99% of gear is either instantly scrapped or vaulted
Why would you ever vault anything that means nothing?
Tell me I'm wrong.
You're wrong.
-
Your wrong, it was exactly the same as it was now. Take a look at all the perks and if they sucked then instantly dismantle, nothing has changed in regards to that
-
Nah I scrapped 99% of everything I got in d1 as well.
-
What did it mean exactly? To me it meant I got a piece of gear that 1,000,000 other players got. So...yeah. Your sense of meaning is meaningless at the end of the day.
-
ARe you serious? Its the same process, play, earn crap, dismantle. On the off chance that the item is better suited to your loadouts you keep it. Ther eis literally no change from D1 in this aspect.
-
6 RepliesI swear non of you actually played D1.
-
2 RepliesBack in the day where people with IB gear were fake 30s and fake 32s
Now 99% of gear is either instantly scrapped or vaulted. Tell me I'm wrong.
You never farmed the loot cave did you? Legendaries turning into blues by dozens was real impactful.... Some players put in thousands of hours before they got Ghorn to drop only to get it post-Nerf. Impactful! Some players ran Crota 100x and never got the Crux... Impactful! Hell I ran WotM HM 72x before I got the nanophoenix (a loading ship) to drop... Don’t get me wrong D1 had a lot of pro’s but it definitely had it flaws. Especially Vanilla Destiny. It was way more Grindy of a game. I’ll just leave this here! Addicted to Destiny

Yeah because who didn’t want shank burn on a rocket launcher???
-
You're wrong. Like flat Earth wrong. You're so wrong that incest is more acceptable than anything you have said in this post.
-
In d1 and d2 when you brought something up in light it actually meant something, now people want to take that away by destroying enhancement cores allowing 100.00% of gear to just instantly be brought up. Tell me I'm wrong
-
Diablo 1, 2 and 3. Borderlands 1 and 2. Path of Exile, etc, etc. Heck, even minecraft. All games (including destiny 1) that I've ever played/play with randomly rolled loot has 99.9% trash thats getting instantly sharded, traded or thrown into lava.
-
It's about the same. The only difference I can really think of is the stat increasing bonuses for intellect, strength, and discipline. Having faster melee was alright but a lot of those perks were not very good and when you had the look you wanted, which for most was raid gear, you wouldn't ever really change all too much. I think a lot of this extra thought people put into Destiny 1 was more so because the game was a newer experience. Most of what d2 is currently is pretty much the exact same as it was in d1. People still say loot was better in d1, which is only true really for raids and strike drops, as random rolls were even more restrictive due to the constant nerfing of how weapons handled. Of course if you got counterbalance and rangefinder you were set...but those were really the only 2 good perks in Destiny 1. I can't think of a single good random perk I would use over those 2 because there was no rampage or kill clips. Zen moment did nothing in d1 and the only other perk I can think of that might have done something was outlaw. A lot of things we have from d1 in d2 are almost literally completely better than they used to be. The sandbox and versatility of perks on weapons and armor is so much greater than d1 has. But most of the design that d1 had that would draw you in is pretty much completely gone. No bad ass armor or cool looking weapons. Most of d2 is bland as hell. But on the plus side, it's sandbox as a GAME is better, but it's not necessarily better in terms of fun. Bungie has done a lot of things I think we're good with the current d2, but people always compare it to d1 even though it's almost completely identical in terms of what they do. But Destiny 2's better handling of this stuff made it boring, because it's so easy to get this stuff and none of it ever really looks good.

You are wrong. I scrap the same amount of gear as I did in D1.
-
You’re wrong
-
Was no different
-
You're wrong.
-
Not really...

1 ReplyI did the same thing in D1. So... you're wrong.
