Remove bloom on handcannons

RNG in gunfights is stupid. Combined with flinch, shooting 140 and 150 rpm handcannons feels like you're gambling every time you shoot.

  • You can pace your shots, have your sights directly on the head of a crucible opponent, and it can be a complete whiff. This is what he means by bloom, rng deciding to make you miss despite being in effective range. It is a stupid mechanic that kills most handcannons from being used. I dare you to try it out if you do not believe me. Sometimes you'll whiff 1 in 4 shots, sometimes it's 1 in 10 I also believe the pve critbox for ads is more forgiving than a guardians. Bloom seems to be a bigger issue in pvp.

  • Bloom got negated by the addition of bullet magnetism. If you can't hit your shots, you're either out if the effective range or shooting too fast without compensating for recoil. Otherwise, the damn things shoot fine, even on console.

    • Another option is you pace your shots instead of spamming them like it is an automatic weapon. If you do not spam your shots then the RNG aspect disappears. There is this thing that we do as people in general: we learn the rules and adapt to those situations. I know, I get it that this current generation of players doesn't want to do that - you just want aspects and rules thrown out so you can feel good about yourselves with minimal effort. And that is fine - if that is what you want then power to you. Fortunately there is an entire series dedicated to making you feel like an MLG Pro while basically holding your hand throughout the entire process. It's called Call of Duty. Go play that.

        Pellet spread RNG needs to go as well. No reason a shotgun that can kill at 7 meters occasionally doesn't even break shields at 4. If that means shotguns get another range nerf, fine. I just want consistency.

        You don't get how bad it was with no bloom in D1 with handcanons ? They are already overused . Get rid of the weapon type as a whole , it was cool when inteoduced but it's beyond cancerous and oppressive to other weapon types like scouts and auto rifles. It's a failed primary weapon idea . They introduced bloom and still handcanons persist as the most used weapon type across both console and pc by far. Bloom will not be removed so long as they exist.

        • They’d have to tank hc range to balance the game. We are already at 40% hc kills in pvp. This would make it 55-60%.

            • It should be reduced greatly on Precision HC, but not removed entirely. Reduced slightly on other HC types. Removing Bloom entirely would make almost every HC equal. Last Word would be sniping people 1/2 way across the map. Precision HC would be even worse. There wouldn't be any "Gunfights" just people camping with HC around every turn.

              • They can’t otherwise you will get cross mapped with HC like thorn an tlw in D1 and we all know how people enjoyed that

                • Add bloom/recoil to 180's and all pc hand cannons. Hand cannon problem solved.

                  • Is there a way to test bloom when ads I was spam firing a spare rations the other day at a wall and the bullet pattern was perfectly vertical, with a very very very slight deviation to the right. But a perfect straight line. With bloom that should not be the case, right?
