Can we PvPers get enhanced armor, emblems and shaders as comp rewards?

Pinnacle weapons are nice and all but once they're obtained there's, IMO, no good reason to stay in the playlist afterwards. Since Trials is dead and gone, and there's no other "end-game" pvp event (aside from Iron Banner, which also needs better armor) I feel it's only fair for comp to reward armor with enhanced perks as well as have other aesthetics to chase that set players apart. What do you guys think?

  • I want the enhanced reload perks to actually make a difference. Seems like all it does is very slightly increase reload speed. In d1 there was a noticeable difference.

      I think that pvpers should be able to progress their characters to the max level from only doing crucible activities as well on top of getting the pvp exclusive pinnacle weapons. And maybe even pay less for the game since it’s partial game “we PVPers” play plus the opportunities of making money from carries.

    • Why would you want competitive in particular to give RNG perks that literally make PvP less competitive?

    • PvP is just something to do when there’s nothing else to do anyways so I personally don’t feel like it’s necessary. Comp specifically should of only had cosmetic rewards to begin with like flawless trials

      • The fact that comp doesn’t have enhanced armor perks is a joke, enhanced armor perks are only really useful for pvp, in pve it doesn’t matter at all if you have enhanced armor perks

        • No. No enhanced armor. Pinnacle weapons are already running rampant. D1 was perfect, every gun was used. Now only pinnacle weapons are being used. It’s boring and stale.

            I’m always down for things to be made better or specific perks that can make things more unique. If the armor perks were to happen, even as a PvE main that doesn’t really “care” either way because it doesn’t affect me, I would have to say they would need to stay in Comp. these enhanced perks would have no place in QP, imo. This though could be a good starting point for a better distinction of Comp and QP ideas for a PvP overhaul. Especially if Trials isn’t coming back. Edit; fvck yes to emblems and shaders. Even though they are cosmetics I’m always down for that kinda fun.

            • Maybe when we take the time to masterwork our armor to max we get enhanced perks..... Hell I thought last season we were going to be able to masterwork our exotic armor

            • Pinnacle weapons have not been a good experiment in my opinion. All they have done is further divide the player skill gap by making the best players even better. Enhanced armor isn't a step in the right direction. As much as you guys don't want to admit it, the skill gap is what has all but killed Crucible. Unless they find a way to narrow it, the mode will never recover -- and if less and less people continue to play it, what's Bungie's incentive to maintain it i.e. you guys haven't gotten anything in 6 months. I am not even convinced Comp will be a thing in September. Bungie said PvP is staying, they never said which modes. I think emblems are fine to add though.

                Let me preface by saying I'm not that great of a pvp player but I do enjoy it from time to time. I do agree the pvp community needs some love. But here's my thing. How do you regulate it? For pve, you have last wish raids you have seven chances per character ( we'll keep it there since people tend to play their preferred character). For SoTP, you have five chances if you get the secret chest. And for dreaming city, you have about five if you get lucky on drops. So total you get about 17 chances for armor to drop with enhanced perks for armor if you get armor. Now let's go to comp, say you average 15 minutes a match ( if you get countdown every time) gives you 4 matches an hour. So after four hours you have almost the same amount of time to get what takes a bit more time on the pve side. If it were regulated to say a bounty/bounties where your limited to a x amount if loot drop chances per week then I wouldn't see the problem. But if that doesn't happen then there's an issue. Once you do the raids and dreaming city you can't really farm armor drops. You could keep playing comp all day and farm gear would be quite unfair. I'm all for pvp getting some love but some type of balance needs to exist. Let me know what yall think!!

                • I dont see an issue. Enhanced handcannon loader is noticeable, nice to have but not needed. Enhanced unflinching sniper? I hardly see the difference. Unless they make enhanced gear really noticeable, then i can see why youd complain. But at its current state, you can play crucible without them.

                  • Maybe it would be unnecessary, but perhaps an emblem for each map? Maybe let them track lifetime wins on said map? Shaders for dedicated Alpha/Bravo team colours. Red Jack armour/weapon sets from Comp.

                    • A more regimented matchmaking system with rank based cosmetic rewards would help a lot. It currently works very well in almost every other game.

                      • Great idea! A comp loot pool would be a great incentive to keep playing the playlist. Also the pinnacle quests should be more difficult.

                        • Are you kidding me? The whining PvP crowd attacks anything that's good in this game. So, either the enhance perks do nothing, or the crybabies will howl for nerfs. We can't have nice things in Destiny.

What do you guys think?[/quote] I hate pvp but I like your idea. You should get exclusive rewards for excelling in a specific area of the game. That, more than the carrot on a stick approach, would keep players engaged long term.

                          • Enhancement cores should be used to enhance perks on our armor... they shouldnt be exclusive to raid/exotics. Yes, raid armor should be special but they should be special while in the raid or killing enemies that are in that raid.
