It would be nice if there was another option in the game to get some top tier weapons provided you are lucky enough. Armsday in D1 provided just that, and in an era that Crucible is being dominated by Luna's and Recluse, it would be nice to have a place where maybe just maybe a comparable type of weapon might be released for an Armsday. As a player that enjoys more PvP and in Quickplay due to the superior and more fun game types, I find it extraordinarily frustrating to see those games largely dominated by players with Raid or Competitive (more often than not) weapons.
Yes, you can MAYBE get lucky in the Forge or Gambit to get a top tier weapon, but I still think something like Armsday would help level the playing field and make the majority of the player base happy. Iron Banner once provided great weapons too (in D1), but no longer. They are all sub tier at best now. Might want to change that, and bring back Armsday to increase diversity and fun potential.

Armsday would be nice. Have all the foundries this time and even Black Armory churning out new Curated and Random Roll weapons. Add new frames to Black Armory for purchase. Like Curated versions of the gun could be tied to a weekly bounty while the Random versions are obtainable just like in D1. Random Roll BA weapons could be like those from the Research Frames. New Frames could be a new Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, Sidearm, Scout rifle, Fusion Rifle, and a Grenade Launcher. (I know BA versions do drop randomly from Forges, bit they are just BA versions of other guns) That way BA stays relevant along with the other foundries. Maybe even have "Reps" from Suros and all those others visit the tower on a weekly rotataion? Offer up a different gun each week? Along with whatever Banshee has going.

This is what I've wanted most since D2 launched.
-
The content is so skimpy they aren't even making the annual pass holders happy. I don't think they are going to add any good quality of life changes to Destiny 2.
-
Speaking of Armsday Banshee has a god roll PDX-45 in D1 this week.
-
2 RepliesWhy would I go through the hassle of grinding a pinnacle weapon when I can just do armsday for a comparable weapon?
-
1 ReplyI agree, but they could also offer good weapons in the Iron Banner. In D1, IB weapons were sometimes meta. In D2 they are more of a joke than anything.
-
They couldve added it in as a collaboration between the tower gunsmiths and the black armory. It would then operate as a mix between the rare and legendary forge bounties. First: You choose which weapon frame out of the five available on rotation. Costs 8 Modulus Reports, 2 Legendary Shards, and 1 black armory schematic. Can only purchase 3 per week and only each type once per week. Second: Complete the bounty requirements. Examples: - Complete 3 Gambit Prime Matches, Kill 200 Taken, Kill 1 Primeval. - Complete 3 Vanguard Strikes, generate 20 orbs of light in strikes, Kill 100 Hive with precision Damage. - Complete 3 Crucible Matches, Kill 10 enemy guardians with supers, earn 3 double kill medals. Third: Return to Aida-1. Because why not... Fourth: Complete a Bergusia Forge ignition. Fifth: Turn in the bounty to get a random roll, or return to Aida-1 to choose from her 3 fixed sets. (The sets are randomly generated and can be selected. Resets weekly) Here Bungie I did all the thinking for you.

4 RepliesI’m 100% on board with this idea. I miss the gunsmith having a good use. Plus, for the love of all that is holy, I’d like the chance to get a good Erentil. I’m so sick of getting the Halfdan D.
-
1 ReplyYes I need more things to take up space in my inventory to grant me under leveled loot!
-
Edited by blade329: 5/3/2019 7:32:15 PMArmsday didn't fit into Bungie's "vision". If it was fun and players liked it, it didn't make the cut for D2. I'm all for Armsday coming back, but the core economy will suck the fun right out of it.
-
Um no.
-
I just want a good fusion rifle roll
-
2 RepliesI think that every vendor should have rotating inventory, random rolls similar to factions in d1. it seems ridiculous that we don't have that. and Year 1 armour needs to be upgraded to random rolls. Zero reason we dont' have that yet.
-
3 RepliesWerent we supposed to get Armsweek? I'm guessing that idea got converted into the Black Armory...
-
1 ReplyEdited by EMW ZEEK: 5/3/2019 1:21:45 PMI didn't really think armsday was successful in D1, but maybe it could work in D2. I would prefer it to be crafted rather than rng however. IE choose your own perks on certain weapon frames.
-
That would be nice, I miss placing orders on guns that I ACTUALLY WANTED.
-
And hopefully add some variety with the foundry weapons since while I like high impact autos I prefer 600 rpms
looking at you hakke
-
Armsday. Otherwise known as Hurry-up-and-wait Day. Black Armory is the way to make players farm for gear. Not reward players for sitting on their ass doing nothing week after week until RNGesus gifts them with a god roll.
-
2 RepliesArmsday seems obvious to me. With a lot of reskins etc in this iteration of Destiny I wonder how much time creating weapons does take Bungie as we rarely do get lots of new weapons introduced.
-
I think Armsday was another feature from D1 that should have been in D2 from the beginning, even if nothing was changed only to add more to it later, it would have helped a lot during D2Y1 for those who wanted that random rolled weapon. Also, throughout each season, there should be an Armsweek(or two) that has some special event for unique rewards. Finally, with the different weapons vendors, there should be a way to purchase different items from each vendor: Veist should provide random Veist weapons, shaders and maybe Veist specific mods and do the same for each of the different vendors to create more possibilities of unique weapons.
-
Arms-day was going be where the Hard Light Catalyst game from. Since it’s not I have no reason to doubt that event is scrapped altogether sadly :(
-
I just want frames for the galliard, show of force and other weapons that are random drops of year 1 weapons. I’d farm those more than the BA ones tbh

6 RepliesAn Armsday would also be a great way to start re-introducing old D2 weapons that were never continued after the new ones with component slots arrived. For instance the Postive Outlook auto rifle. A fan favorite that was left behind for absolutely no good reason.

5 RepliesEdited by Hunter_Umbra: 5/3/2019 12:32:26 AMAs much as I liked some of the weapons Banshee offered, I would hardly call them top-tier. Thesan basically became obsolete when Saladin's Vigil came about. Hawksaw was better than PDX if I remember correctly. And suros scouts couldn't roll firefly.

3 RepliesThey could spice up patrols and lost sectors with this as well. Make some of the test requirements specific to some of the more munfdane/stale activities that we need to run anyway.
