I feel like this game is being overbalanced for very trivial reasons. I am amazed at how many nerfs are being done to weapons and exotic armor in this game. It takes away from everything that made this game fun to play to begin with. So, what is the point of grinding our asses off for future pinnacle weapons?
The truth we've come to know so far is that these weapons are either going to be completely underwhelming or their going to feel like they're legitimately pinnacle weapons and then get nerfed soon after you obtain the weapon. This is the sad, unfortunate truth for a lot of people who just earned or paid for the Luna and NF. This is not the way to level the playing field Bungie. The reason these two hand cannons are considered OP is both because Magnificent Howl is fantastically powerful and because the archetype doesn't suffer from bloom. The 110, 140 and 150 rpm archetypes need their bloom removed. I think this game deserves more than just nerfs. I mean, is Recluse next? You had better leave that one alone.
Josh Hamrick once stated that he didn't want to nerf weapons anymore and instead wanted to bring other weapns/archetypes more in line with the more powerful weapons. This was the right direction for balance; as long as pinnacle weapons still feel powerful. They're pinnacle weapons, they should be powerful. Remove bloom from other hand cannon archetypes and leave Magnificent Howl alone.
Edit: I’m not some butt hurt PvP sweaty, just to clear that up. I’m primarily a PVE player that will relentlessly grind out whatever this game has to offer, because... FOMO. Thanks for the support guys/gals.

1 ReplyIt wouldn't surprise me at all if they decided to nerf Recluse.

16 RepliesThe nerfherders are the people that don't have the guns. But if you have the guns you realize something really quick: Redrix sucks LH range sucks Recluse is noting more than a SMG with a passive kill clip perk MT top- well its getting a buff because it not that good. Not Forgotten is in its own class and its a beast. IMO to get NF is a special kind of grind. The hardest in the game and it should be left alone but the for the others.....they are good but not Godly but people who don't have them can't understand that.

7 RepliesYou do know Luna’s isn’t the only pinnacle right? The mountaintop is a VERY good example of what a pinnacle is supposed to be. It’s extremely powerful, but requires you to use a strange play style. Luna’s literally rewards you for shooting how you normally would... at the head. Not to mention there is also a Broadsword which is a very good weapon that requires you to spin up the perk in order to get it rolling. I doubt the recluse will get a nerf past maybe making body shots do less than head shots. Please though... stop complaining about them needing the only two weapons anyone uses in pvp. They were stupid powerful, and there are plenty of other pinnacle weapons in the game, and there will continue to be more added.

1 ReplyEdited by DiZ: 5/1/2019 3:19:32 PMRecluse is definitely next. It's basically a better close-mid Machine Gun that takes primary ammo and can shoot well in the air(even without an Icarus Grip mod). I've got all the Crucible pinnacles besides Mountaintop(no point, I don't like Grenade Launchers), and it's been my opinion since it was released that Recluse is a far greater terror in at least Quickplay(which is where most people play) than Luna or NF. I predict it's soon to be the most used Energy weapon in all gamemodes, even in PvE, because people were already debating what they really wanted to use(Luna/NF or Recluse) in PvP before this nerf/change was announced. And Bungie's already shown they'll nerf anything if it's overused. Anyone remember the 1000-Yard stare nerf? The reasoning they gave on one of their streams for nerfing it was literally "This is the most used Special weapon... like... EVER!" Even though the only reason people used it so much was that it was the only Sniper of that archetype(mid/medium-high impact) that had existed at the time that could be used in new content, and I believe there were also no super high-impact Snipers(i.e. Efrideets's, Event Horizon) that were available as well besides Spindle/Whisper. Also, at that time, it was the only archetype that could dome revives(when they were much more common) and ohk Supers to the head in PvP without taking your Exotic slot to do so.

Same feeling here. I will never get nf but for people who have skill time patience and team there should be a god tier weapons to chase.

1 ReplyYou make some valid points and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game, but Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

1 ReplySame point as always. You get the weapons because they are the best, and then you have an edge for a while. When too many people get the weapon and use only that weapon because it's way above everything else it creates a meta, and after a while they nerf it to keep the meta fresh. Then they create another meta or pinnacle weapon and you'll follow it as well. But you know all this. You're just crying because you don't want to give up your edge, no matter what it does to the rest of the playerbase attempting to enjoy pvp. And you know what? I'd be on your side if sbmm weren't taken away just so cowards could play people beneath their skill and feel tough. Without sbmm to make it where I can play with my favorite auto or pulse I really don't feel sorry for you. You're need to be Billy Bad Ass in a video game has ruined pvp for people like me who just like to play for fun.

1 ReplyAre you just now starting to realize how much time you've wasted grinding for weapons in a video game?
-
It is unreal seeing so many players act as if these game changes to balance the game are the end of the world. The guns will be fine, you can play and enjoy the game and the guns, at some point things change. Did you think that you were going to be taking an unbalanced LH/NF into D3?? That wasn’t going to happen.

5 RepliesI agree 100% man. Honestly, I'll never grind for a pinnacle weapon ever again. I just don't trust Bungie right now. I put a lot of work into getting Luna's, and it felt amazing to finally break through and get the weapon this season. Now, after all that work, Bungie is just going to ruin the weapon? My brother just got his Luna's yesterday. Took a lot of sweat for him. And it was all for nothing. What a letdown.

87 RepliesI hope Recluse is next. Pinnacle weapons are a joke. If tryhard really cared about pvp they'd be fine with getting emblems that track their actual rank in real time. Climb that ladder and stay out of quickplay. You're not wanted. Better yet, as most of the community has echoed, remove pvp. Make it it's own game. Then we will would see how many tryhards are actually good when they can't stomp on pve players being forced into a game mode they don't want to play.

None.

4 RepliesYou grind for a pinnacle weapon so you can dick measure with people online, and feed the ego. Doesn't mean the guns are allowed to be absolutely broken, and game ruining.
-
2 RepliesThey haven't even implemented the change yet and people are complaining. Instead of 3c1b it will 2c1b. Yes at a slightly slower speed but still as a precision hand cannon. You will still feel powerful wielding it and it will still destroy. It's fine tuning, that's all and was about time. Wait till the change hits and then start crying if it is a nerf. Or just wait and you might be surprised.

I agree. Why not have a weapon in every type that is competative instead of one weapon and in one weapon type.
-
8 RepliesEdited by LincolnRazgriz: 5/1/2019 2:31:30 PMI agree, buff everything to similar ttk. In real life a .22 can kill you just as easily as .50. Although give me 5.56 or 7.62 any day.
-
there isn't. I had a feeling this was coming since beginning of Black Armory. I'll stick to my word from then - if they start nerfing pinnacles - i wont actively grind for any of them going forward. And that's what i'm going to do.
-
9 RepliesI have none of the pinnacle weapons but I desperately want just one of them. I'm not awful in pvp but the playlist is just so frustrating.. I'm considering just paying someone to hit fabled for me cause I cannot get over 1800. One eyed mask titans, grenade spam and pvp gods. For Christ sake bungie help the little guy - throw me a bone, anything.. Mayne if you encouraged more people into the playlist it would be so stale.... (As you can tell I'm just off a losing streak)
-
34 RepliesPinnacle weapons that give already skilled players further advantage (and lets be real here, guns like Luna’s and Recluse do EXACTLY that) have no place in the game to begin with.

3 RepliesI've pondered this to the point that I've decided not to even try for the Recluse. All that work and time grinding for the Luna, just to have it nerfed.....? Why waste more time for another nerf..... I just hate to say it, but I'll pass for now.
-
23 RepliesThe amount of people who dont realize why the nerf happened is baffling.

Next meta Service revolver? Tracking grenades? Too late Sooo excited
-
Recluse is off limits bungie, I just got it today.

Do anyone rember pocket infinity? No? That cool overpowered exotic fussion rifle? That only weapon that was able to beat Mythoclast when it was brocken? No? Oh, i know why. BECAUSE IT WAS NERFED TO HELL! Bungie just couldnt fix his messed up nerf that it was the ONLY weapon that from been an OP weapon to a peace of crap!
