You know what might help with this cause?
Posting threads with suggestions of what to replace it with. Destiny, as a loot game, is always going to have things to grind for, and they've had materials of some sort as part of infusion and gaining perks and whatnot since the start. So instead of just saying "GET RID OF CORES", try suggesting a reasonable replacement.
Threads like these merely show a problem, not one considered universal, and one easily ganged on by the forum hive mind. Provide solutions and actual feedback and maybe...and I wouldn't hold my breath on it, Bungie seems intent on dying on this hill...they might listen. This thread is next to worthless as feedback.

Edited by pattygodaddy1: 4/25/2019 7:46:15 PMbungie. if you arent going to remove enhancement cores from infusion can we get masterwork cores added back to the game for masterworking our gear.

There have been many threads posting suggestions and solutions. Not two weeks ago, there were several, one I made as well with well over 3k upvotes. Not ONE response from Bungie. Not even the canned "we hear you and will pass this along to the devs". I don't disagree that we are probably beating a dead horse at this time. But the take away from this discussion, regardless of whether or not cores are removed, is that players are frustrated, and Bungie has proven itself to be tone def.

Replace? Why? We have given an alternative: just remove them. That won't break anything. Easy infusion doesn't break anything as it's already limited by what high PL gear is available as infusion fuel. Besides, infusion was not something that was broken in D2 year 1; it didn't need that "fix". Removing 'cores from infusion will leave legendary shards, glimmer and planetary mats as a cost, and this will still limit infusion. That is reasonable.
-
You say this like cores were in infusion since day 1, they weren't, and the feedback is that it should stay that way. That isn't worthless, not everything is compromisable.
-
What OP is saying is that motes in D1 are equivalent to cores in D2. It's not a new concept for the destiny franchise.
-
Well, that's just false. Motes were never needed in infusion. Cores don't grant XP
-
Motes were needed in infusion in D1. I'm literally playing it right now so please do try again.
-
Looking back, turns they were. Must have actually worked if I was able to completely forget. I remember motes raining on people.
-
They rained....... less then cores do now.
-
Motes came from just plain experience gained from any activity i have over 2000 motes in destiny right now they didnt specifically have to be farmed from a specific series of activities
-
You also had about 2 years of no content which equates to nothing to use them on. D2 they have been trickling content post forsaken and bumping light as opposed to well just nothing like D1.
-
That's correct. The motes and other materials needed to upgrade in D1 were much more of a pain. The enh core s system in place now is actually much better.
-
Edited by TJ_Dot: 4/25/2019 3:28:07 PMI remember having around a thousand motes without even trying. Had to use them to actually save space I still have 469. They rained a whole lot. There was never a defined mote grind that people had to do

Edited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 4/25/2019 3:44:12 PMBecause there were long stints in the game where you had nothing to use them on. I mean kingsfall lasted for over a year with nothing new added for example. That happened quite a bit in D1. You would have 1000 cores if forsaken lasted as long as kingsfall did and they weren't trickling in new content bumping the light level to keep forsaken semi fresh. I'm glad they are adding in new content instead of just nothing for over a year... that was terrible.
-
Motes still dropped more and had less expensive use. People were fine dumping 12-20 or so to level up weapons too.
-
Motes had 8 purposes... cores have 2. And the game literally throws more cores at you then you can spend.
-
Edited by TJ_Dot: 4/25/2019 4:38:29 PMMotes had 8 uses and still managed to be easy to have, wow, must mean they dumped them out. Cores are not and you know it, that's a lie.
-
They dump out both. You'd know that if you bothered to level your clan up and play... but hey.... that's not my fault 😊😉
-
Edited by TJ_Dot: 4/25/2019 5:24:00 PMOh I'm sorry, is Destiny one of those schools where you are required to be an active member of some sort of sorority in order to have a decent time living there? Because it sounds like you think it is. No one should need a super active clan to infuse That is beyond stupid.
-
You don't have to 🤷♂️ I suggested plenty of other avenues for you to get a ton of cores... none of them were good enough for you... only person that can help you is you.. and you clearly don't want to help yourself sooooooo goodluck with that?
-
none of them were good enough for you..
It's because they aren't good
-
Edited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 4/25/2019 6:17:35 PMBut they are. It's a social game so being in a clan is a good thing 😊 PvP is fun 😊 PvE isn't my thing so i'm not going to grind spider bounties but if PvE is your forte well there ya go! Not to mention all the other sources for cores. You shouldn't limit yourself as a player 😁
-
good things =/= necessary things
-
All you have to do is play. I don't see how that is an issue. If you don't want to play then cores clearly are no issue to you 🤷♂️
-
I do play -_-
