Dredgen Vale

Was curious about the reason why “Vale” was chosen as a Dredgen name. In normal use, a vale is a valley. In Latin, vale means “farewell.” Just thought I’d throw this out there.

  • Well in universe Dredgens do not pick their names, they are given them. Likely connecting to their purpose. Drifter was Dredgen Hope, now he shows us harnessing the dark without severe side affects is more than possible. Callum was Dredgen Cull, a man quite literally used to cull the more uncontrollable members of the Shadows. And now we come to Dredgen Vale, likely meant as Veil, referencing the deception that is central to his life.

  • Dredgen off the top of my head means eternal, so in theory dredgen vale would either mean: Eternal valley Eternal farewell Personally I think its the second one...
