Shards of galanor

Keep running into issue when using blade barrage while wearing shards of galanor I do not receive any super energy back. Happens frequently can I expect a fix soon ?

  • I keep running into an issue were I block my whole sentinel super and get 1/4 my super back.

    • I found a glitch (I think) yesterday where shards gave me all of my super back for hitting all my knives. That primeval was dead in milliseconds 😂

      • Yeahhh it’s not a great exotic. Nothings wrong with it except for it used to be good in crucible so it had to be made useless.

          I was using it in this past Mayhem and I noticed that after refilling the bar twice, it would trigger a cooldown and wouldn't give me any super energy after the third. So, it looked like this: Super 1 Reset Super 2 Reset Super 3 Cooldown. I didn't really pay attention to how long the cooldown was, but I think it was just until the next super (which had to be recharged "normally"). It's kind of disheartening. I didn't get Galanor until after the [b][i]first[/i][/b] nerf anyway, so I was already working with a gimped item.

                  • I'm just pasting my reply from another thread on this topic, as I'd love to see this nerf reverted in PvE: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can't read the actual source code but I'll add my 2c on the differences I observed regarding the performance pre / post nerf. The original exo design seemed to track blade damage to quantify potential regen. So blades that missed damaging any targets reduced the potential enegery you could regen. It was kind of nicely aligned with how the barrage originally worked, and rewarded skill. Land your blades, get a good chunk of super back. I'm not sure if shards always had an RNG component, but as of now it does (it took a few months for them to drop for me). There is a window to regen your super that lasts 2 - 4 seconds. So that is why you can kill the same group of adds 2x and get different results. Your window may only regen super for 2 seconds on one group, and be twice as long on another. Bungie stated in a TWAB after the nerf that they tuned shards to be more consistent, but I never felt that in PvE. Maybe they meant regen in PvP. I can say that in PvE the regen window seems totally random. On top the the RNG window of regen, barrage was changed to have more of its damage on blade explosion instead of blade impact. It doesn't seem like the exo was updated to take the change to barrage into consideration. If you go after a group of red bards, the targets are weak enough to die from blade impact, and the delayed explosion damage (which is the majority of the potential for regen) then happens too late and doesn't register anything for potential regen.

                    Working as intended. It got nerfed---hard---to reduce the spamming of Blade Barrage in PVP. So you can't really use it any more as crowd control. If you want super energy back you basically have dump the entire super into a minor-boss or boss. IOW, they basically BROKE it for PVE play. smh.

                    • Yup. They nerfed Shards of Galanor hard. Very Hard. In a sense, they nerfed it as badly as they originally nerfed Nova Warp, only at least Nova Warp got re-looked at when they realized that they [b]FFFFFFF'd [/b]the freak up, and they ended up reverting some of the massively dumb changes. However with Shards of Galanor? I don't expect them to bat an eye to the fact that they screwed that Exotic over.

                      • Yep, they're pretty weak now, aren't they? Such a shame as it was the forsaken exotic I wanted most for my Hunter. Pre-nerf I loved using them all the time but often now they feel like a liability. I wish they'd revisit them so that for pve they could be good again like Skull is for Nova.

                        • The way it's supposed to work is, if you kill a bunch of enemies and get a 7 orb drop, you get maybe 1/5 you super back. If you hit a boss with all your super and dont kill it, you get anywhere from half to all your super back. That part is very inconsistent. I think there are mechanics in place to keep it from being abused in Gambit.

                          • You can not suicide it and get rewarded anymore. Must stay alive for a bit after to get energy back. Just like warlock skull exotic.

                            • It’s no longer ADD clear. It’s DPS. Use it on a miniboss or boss that can survive the impact and take heavy damage from the explosion. Little guys just die as soon as they get tickled by the blades.

                            • The bosses in the Blind Well are about the only enemies that are pissed off with the shards.... Cause they suck now everywhere else in the game, sadly.

                            • they ruined it with the nerf. The only use I see for them is for fun or boss damage. Too bad really, if they just kept it the way it was, it would be on par the new nova bomb, but that would be to much balance.
